VIDEO: Kerry Collins last 4 game tying/winning drive attempts

Bears made a Superbowl with Rex Grossman at QB. We were good enough last year, it's foolish to think otherwise.

 

Fisher has already said the VY is the QB of the future. We are 0-2. Just put him in there and see if he can light a fire. If we go 0-3 fisher will have to seriously consider it.

 

As long as it's the defense or anyone or section other than Collins bearing the brunt of the fault of the loss, Fisher won't bench Collins. And why should he if it's not the QB's fault?

 

if we could only merge these two qb's, collins got a gun and the ball is out fast and quick but man any pressure and he is dead, thats why he got bench when he first came here, we had no o-line and he look bad..

 

What if we didnt have CJ? how would Collins look compared to VY?

If CJ ever gets hurt and is out 4-5 games, COllins will have to win the games himself. And i dont think he could do it. with no Run Threat ,teams would kill COllins.

 

Why? For the same reason Fisher started VY in 2006, to give the team a spark. We didn't have a good defense that year either. The defense was like 30th in the league.

Kerry was great last year when we had a dominate rushing game and dominate defense. All he had to do was handoff, make a few passes, and not turn the ball over. If our defense continues to struggle, we will need a playmaker in there to keep up. Considering our schedule, we will need VYs upside if Kerry doesn't start making strides in the passing game. We have good recievers for once, and somebody has to start getting the ball to them.

 

and they got slaughtered by a team with a quarterback that made plays. Besides, the Bears superbowl defense was better than ours, there conference was/is weaker than ours.

 

How trivial "well the bears defense was better than ours." Not much that much. And no Manning didn't make that many plays in the Superbowl. I just fail to see where people are under the impression Young IS able to make plays. The guy can't pass, no debate. If you can't pass, you can't play QB in this league.

 

Vince will never be a super-star passing QB, granted. The keys to his game are mixing the pass and run option to keep the D off-balance and wear them down, which opens it up for everyone else on offense. If he is used that way this team will be successful. If Fisher won't be satisfied until Vince plays just like Kerry, then forget the whole thing. We won't go anywhere until Fisher is out of the picture.

 

The problem with that is Young can't do that. Teams couldn't be less scared of his arm so they stop his run and force him to throw and he can't do that. Without the ability to be a good passer you simply cannot succeed as a QB in this league.
