It sucks that we lost, but this is still one of the best performances you will ever see from a running back. Period. 270 yards and 3 TDs are good QB numbers. This is the dude we drafted in the first round, this is the guy that we are building an offense around. Texans or not, blown coverage or not, he was utilized in the slot and outside several times during the game, had huge run plays, and 9 catches including a 70-yarder, and is a versatile threat all over the field. Watch how he grabs Eugen Amano's jersy and just thrusts himself around a defender at 2:17 when he broke off that 91 yard run. Incredible instincts, speed, vision, everything

Deuce Wayne: observe 1:27 for CJ shaking a hit 4 yards behind the LOS and turning it into a 9 yard gain, no 5-hoot hole in sight, just spun the dude out of his shoes.

idk if it is one of the best performances EVER. That long TD reception is definitely not the way you want to do things but I guess I'll take it.

Some of us were thinking CJ had a chance to challenge AP for the single-game rushing record. I believe he had almost 200 in the third quarter. Another 100 would have done it.

    He's an amazing player.

I will say this, though... it's not at all CJ's fault for being so explosive - but his 3 big plays hurt our defense a bit. The Texans held the ball for almost 10 minutes more than us. We're not playing our ball control physical offense anymore, and on top of our D getting picked apart for a couple long drives, and the offense getting it's occasional 3 and outs, we've got CJ who busted 3 TDs on drives that ended quickly.

We all know the best way to limit players like Andre Johnson is to keep the ball away from them. We're not balancing CJs explosiveness with Lendale's consistency, and as a result we've turned into the Colts of old - can score at any time but can't get the tough yards when we need them and wind up wearing our defense down by the end of the game.

    What?
Which brings me to my next lesson, pay attention in English and typing class.

    I hope that's sarcasm.

Look a gift horse in the mouth much?
    Yesterday...
    CJ = epic success
    Defense(specifically secondary) = epic failure

I don't think you could be happy with anything unless CJ passed the ball to himself and then made that run.

OF COURSE a long TD reception is how you want to do things...as often as we can...with anyone on the field that has a chance.

You constantly cease to amaze me....

This was obviously his best performance ever. If we won then he would be on every highlight show. Instead. Andre Johnson is. What a waste.

    Told you so ...........

    :wink2:

The kid was amazing for ECU and it's carried over into the NFL. You got a diamond in the ruff when you drafted him.

Just think C-USA has four RB's playing in the NFL.

    Class of 2008

    CJ (Titans via ECU)
    M. Forte (Bears via Tulane)
    K. Smith (Lions via UCF)

    Class of 2006

    D. WIlliams (Panthers via Memphis)

Long TD passes are exactly how I want to do things actually.
