I just want to take this opportunity to remind Cecil that while our media in Tennessee may not eat him alive, us fans have booze and guns... OK, it's not that bad. Still, these problems with the defense have to get fixed. I certainly hope Fisher isn't handcuffing his play-calling, and I certainly hope he doesn't get too comfortable in a smaller market. Philly would be marching in the streets.

 

Schwartz did a poor job when he first started. Be patient.

I understand that. You have to remember, however, that Schwartz hadn't been with the team very long when he was promoted to DC. Cecil has been with this team for eight years. The window is closing for this team, and this was a top ten defense last season in many respects. Even in Haynesworth's absence, Washburn seems to have the D-Line ready. They're stopping the run and getting pressure. The rest of the defense looks like hammered :grrr::grrr::grrr::grrr:, and they are suffering from the scheme.

 

Lets hope they have a meeting and agree the change some things on defense.

Maybe we can come out next week and blitz the hell out of the Qb and play tighter coverage on the WR's. We need a new look on defense. We dont have a Haynesworth or Ray Lewis .. so we need to do what ever works with what we have.

 

Pinning our ears back and blitzing every play isn't the answer. That gets you burned in the NFL. Our problem is getting at least some form of pressure on the QB and our secondary just falling asleep while receivers run right past them. And please, get off of Ray Lewis' nuts man, no one wants to hear that crap.

 

I would rather our defense pin their ears back and get burned than to play soft coverage and STILL get burned.

Its just too bad we had to waste C.J.'s huge day because our defense was pathetic. I mean horrible. Everyone is always worried about getting in the other teams face or celebrating after a play but why cant we just play football and let our play speak for itself. Another thing, you watch other teams and their home field advantage sometimes kicks in, ours seems to be lacking as of late. First the playoff game and now against the Texans. Oh well, 0-3 next week forsure against the Jets. Thats a fact.
