This I agree he bails out to quick when he gets pressure. You have to either sit their and take the hit and try to make the play or at least slide over. Not just say oh there coming let me throw the ball away and leave to the defense. I seen the rooking Sanchez moving around when the Texans blitz gave himself just enough time to complete the play. Every play is not going to go as designed you have to improvise in the league today defense are that good.

If Collins takes a hit, he might die. He is an old man. Osteoporosis is about to kick in, and that might finish him off bad. If he wants to live to see that other half of his new contract he will continue throwing balls all over the stands.

I'm going to the Jets game in 2 weeks. I'll be at the 10-yard line on the field screaming to Collins. Hopefully his hearing aid is turned up. If he can hear me that's good news, seeing that I'm in the Red Zone.

Did we watch the same game Thursday? I saw Collins make throw after throw with a blitz in his face. He often got pounded just after the pass left his hand. Even when he was running, he was looking down field. A check down would have been nice.

Take the sack? He was sacked 12 times last season. If anything, he's prone to throw it away instead of trying to force the pass. Go back in Collin's history and you see a guy who would put the ball on the ground because he wasn't willing to throw it away. He's gotten smarter with age.

So no credit for doing anything in the first 58 minutes of the game?

EVERY play counts. You can't judge the quality of any player by just examining the final two minutes of a game. You look at the big picture. Is Collins the best in the league, heck no. But he's the best option the team has right now. He's 13-5 as the starter.

Just so we know, how many games has Collins had the chance to take it onto his shoulders and win the game late? Maybe three times since game one of '08?

For the record, are all you Collin-bashers saying Young is the better option? If not, Ramsey?

Point being, those are the Titans choices. Collins falls in around the middle of the league, IMO, but is BY FAR, the best suited QB to run the Titans offense.

    He is a winner...

I can't believe the KFC bashing.....

He lead Penn State to an undefeated season in 94 with one of the most high powered college Offenses in history...

He took the Panthers to the NFC championship in his second year
He took the Giants to the Super bowl

He started 15 games for the Raiders and was 300 yards shy of a 4000 yard season with 20 TD's and 12 ints..... on a bad raider team, he had many 4th quarter go ahead drives only to have the lead slip by a team with no defense, .......career yards .....37,637,

He can do the job, for goodness sake, it's only the first game of the season.

Can't think of Collins making a play to win a game when it matters most? Did you even watch last season?

How about the first game, when Vince went out, and we'd been losing momentum. Collins came in on a 3rd and 15, and threw a great pass to Scaife against huge pressure that went for 44 yards! Same drive, 3rd and 6, he passes to Gage for 21, pushed out at the one, and White punched it in for the clinching score.

How about the week 5 Baltimore game, where we're down 10-6 in the 4th quarter? Collins drove us from the 20 the length of the field, with passes for 9, 10, 4, 13, 15, and 11 yards for a TD. We lost 2 yards rushing on that drive, and had no other runs. Collins won that game for us (with help from the D and receivers).

Those should be all of the examples that you need, but here's more...

The Chicago game, when they sold out on the run, so Collins completed 31/40, which is both a high completion rate, and a lot of passes to ask of him, 2 TDs, no INTs, and a 108 rating.

Or maybe the second Jags game, when they came out fast and we were behind... thankfully, Collins threw 3 TDs, 1 INT, and a rating in the 120s. That included a 56 yard TD and a 38 yard TD, both to Gage.

Don't say that he can't get it done.

I'm happy to agree that he isn't a top tier QB. I'm happy to say that he can't win it for us in the clutch every time. However, it's silly to argue that he can't do it. He's had some seriously good games, and he's the best option that we have for this season.

Note- he also had over a 100 rating against the Steelers last year, and still managed a decent game last week, with an 81 passer rating and 244 yards for us. His worst throw was probably the INT (which was definitely on him, underthrown), and it was still low risk since it was down at about the 5.

Im just saying I wouldnt want Collins trying i lead us 90 yards with 2 minutes left in a Super Bowl. I wouldnt trust him to make something happen. I dont trust any QB we have to do that. None of them are good at manipulating a good Defense.

Maybe Collins can prove me wrong this season, but even Fisher didnt have faith in a 50 second 95 yard drive vs the Steelers. Peyton or Brady would have moved that ball down field. And their coaches would have let them try. We are not at that point.
