dude you are really starting to piss me off, but i can tell you one thing. we played a hell of a game. ok and we lost. woopty damn do! there are 15 more. fisher is the 3rd on the active wins list, he has the 2nd or 3rd best win % among coaches as well. he took a sh** team last year and made us 13-3. the only reason we lost to baltimore last year was mistakes, not fisher telling algae to drop the ball. same thing last nite we didnt lose that ball bc he told gage to drop a wide open pass across the middle. There is nothing wrong with your opinion dont get me wrong its a free country and until OBAMA takes that away your free to speak. I just dont like you coming in here bashin the sh** out of the team i love so much. besides its not like you were on the sidelines to know what fisher called in anyways:moon2:

Don't blame Fisher for this. It wasn't his fault. Blame the team and players for not executing properly. The defensive playcalling at times was a bit questionable too.
If we are to make it to the SB, we will most likely have to go through these guys again, so the coaching staff and team members better have an answer for this should we meet them again.

    Troy's pick

I found the clip of Polamalu's interception.

While the one-handed grab was pretty sweet, Collins more or less gave that too him.
It was a fly/go route. Now, unless it was in realtiy some sort of deep curl or comeback route, you aren't supposed to even slow down, let alone stop on a go route. Britt was ahead of him and had Kerry put some more zip on that, it may very well have been six there, especially after Troy turned his back on Britt to watch Collins.
Why is it that Collins (and even Vince) perpetually over throw WRs most of the time, but on a play like this, he has to under throw it...right into the hand of the league's best SS?

As soon as I saw Collins throw that pass... I knew it would fall incomplete or intercepted. It looked like an awkward release and it was well short. The receiver had to stop and wait for it. 9 times out of 10, that gets picked off in the NFL when that happens.

The irony..which you obviously failed to see...is that Cowher didn't win the Superbowl until his 14th season.

Who in the world honestly thinks that this is a game that we were "supposed" to win? We were playing the SB champs(god knows the announcers told us enough times) at their place to open the season! We played them extremely tough, even pushed them around a little, and lost in part because of a missed field goal and a coin flip! If our offense gets the ball at the 20 to start overtime, it's a different game. We can be frustrated because we were good enough to win and didn't do it, but let's not pretend that last night's game showed anything other than the fact that we're a contender that still has some things to work on.

Our special teams were a big letdown, but a huge part of that is not having a returner. I'm guessing that position is being held for Mouton, who should be back in ten days. However, we started inside the 15 something like 4 times! That's almost impossible, especially against an aggresive Steeler defense. Especially in the last 50 seconds, you have to play conservative there. For the most part, we did it well and didn't make dumb mistakes in a dangerous position.

Stewart, LINE UP PARALLEL TO THE FIVE GUYS BESIDE YOU! You know, like every other time you've ever played football...

I wasn't paying enough attention, but I'm VERY surprised that we backed off of the running game as much as we did. We started the second half with three great runs, then had only three rushes for positive yardage after that. Were they stacked up against us that badly? We should have kept pounding, for no other reason than to keep wearing on their defense, so they wouldn't have been as fresh to rush us like they were at the end of the game.

It's week 1. This team has a long way to go, and now should have plenty of reasons not to feel complacent. I'd rather get hot at the right time and finish with a string of wins, including playoffs. For now, we've got 15 weeks and plenty of work to do. We need 11 wins, let's get back to work and go get them.

They will be fine. Some bad execution on special teams and some penalties that stopped drives on what should have been completed first downs hurt us. That is not the coach, it's the players. The players KNOW they could have won, and didn't execute. This is two games in a row now, but it's a different team this year. We showed signs we will be better. We correct the mistakes, play well against Texans, Jets, and Jags, then get ready for two straight "big ones" with Colts and Pats. if we are 3-3 or 4-2 at the week 7 bye we are still fine.

It's a long season. The AFC has Titans, Steelers, Chargers, Patriots, Ravens, and Colts that have a shot at playoffs, and that's about it. Who cares if we are the 1 seed or the 6 seed. Playoffs is the playoffs, and we have as good a shot as anyone else to make a run. Losing these tough games on the road early will only make us better late, it's just how it works. We know we need to improve and won't get complacent with where they are. This loss will make them even more hungry the rest of the way. It'll be ok guys, just relax.

And to the TC who said fisher needs to lose his job, why not route for the team you have and the coach you have regardless of a win or loss? That's a true fan! Calling for the coaching staff to be replaced after Week 1 is a bit ridiculous.

It's awfully easy to say that watching from your couch. Not to say your opinion is stupid, because its not, but we were playing the Steelers defense, as well as ourselves once again. The only moment I questioned the play calling was late in the 4th when Collins throws the ball away back to back and then we punt. I knew the game would end with who ever touches the ball last. If anyone's to blame its Collins, and not Fisher. Especially after Captain Collins got the coin flip wrong. I know you cant predict that too well, but that's how we truly lost. OT rules didn't favor us this time.

Keep in mind that Crumpler and Gage drop 1 or 2 balls a game. If we keep letting them drop balls in critical times we will never win a title.

This was a good loss if there is such a thing. Now we will be hungrier than ever, and over looked. Just how we like it.
