    That's a good point..but NBA and NHL arenas seem to do OK with them. But this is a different monster altogether..

    I believe there are 8 cables each capable of supporting 400,000 lbs. These are twined steel cables like a rope. It's no different than an elevator, just on a different scale.

    I'm not so much questioning how much the cables can hold as much as I wonder how much the center of a roof can hold. Especially one with a hole in it.

    It'll probably be fine, but I'd be paranoid. These things have fallen before.

    Don't I remember a camera falling last season that would have killed someone if it had hit them. Hit like fifteen feet to the left of the players...
