VY to get a Start

I was hoping they would let Vince play with the first team offense at some point in the preseason. If he comes out and plays with a lot of improvement then that changes things a little bit. It gives him a lot more confidence from himself and the coaches. We would possibly see him in the regular season from time to time if he show improvement with the first team offense. But if he does the same then that should shut everyone up that says it's because he plays with the second team offense

 

Boy I can't wait for the pages of Vince Young threads after that game.

 

It really doesn't matter how good he plays. The haters will still be running their mouths full force. He won't be in there long enough to put up 3 touchdowns and even if he did most people will still talk about 1 badly thrown ball no matter what he does.

I think the bar gets set higher and higher for Vince. He is probably gonna have to play close to a perfect performance for everyone that criticizes him to lay off all the criticism.

 

People don't need perfection. Just be a good passer. Simple as that. Accurate throws on a consistent basis. Not throwing into coverage. Basic NFL QB stuff...

 

That's true only to a degree because really it is about consistency. Vince has been horribly inconsistent the past 2 seasons. One excellent game probably won't allay concerns about inconsistency but a really inconsistent performance (TD's < or = to INT's) would be another in a series.

I believe it will take 2 or 3 games of accurate passing and/or good decision making to turn the tide of doubt that many have about him.

 

I'm sick of being called a "hater." It's being a realist. Go to ANY teams forum and ask them about Vince Young, they will all say the same thing, he sucks. Besides if some people are going to call me a hater than I'm going to call them a VY apologist because no matter what he does some people will make up excuses to defend him. He could go 2/14 with 3 picks in his next pre season game and we would hear the same thing "well people ran the wrong routes, it's only pre season, he did complete 2 REALLY good passes."

 

Then you are on the pessimistic side of being a realist. I also call myself a realist but I'm more optimistic.
And I'll remain optimistic until the NFL coach and OC cuts him from this team, as they are the ones who make the decisions, not a bunch of pundits on here.
I dont' think Vince sucks, but I do know that he alone got himself in this funk and it will be he alone who gets himself out of this mess. He's got a narrow window of opportunity and he better capitalize on it with 100% efficiency or he will be gone. I am pulling for him 100% but I will have NO sympathy for him if he keeps stinking it up w/o visible effort.

Well considering that Heimerdinger himself said that Hawkins ran the wrong route, I'm going to consider that one legit. You know as well as I do that Dinger does not sugarcoat stuff and would have mentioned that the pick was on Vince if it was indeed.
