Obama wanted to comment on the matter, but couldn't get the teleprompter to work. Instead of fielding unscreened questions, he canceled it all and now admits that he never knew Steve.

About her mental health: It's pretty crazy, to me, that a 16 year old girl would willingly decide to drop out of high school and move 2 states over with a boyfriend at that age. It's not that crazy, but it's not normal either. Of course neither is having two parents murdered at a young age.

I do think the MySpace junk needs to be debunked by police. It is probably fake but still suspicious. And the losers in the photo help make it believable because they look like your typical clueless thugs.

The other thing that bothers me is that most women do not shoot themselves in the face when they decide to commit suicide.

I'll be very curious if they release the toxicology report. It's more believable if she has some type of hard drug or heavy alcohol levels in her system.

As far as the affair, for me personally it really doesn't take away from Steve's legacy at all. Whose to say what his home life was really like, right? He did too much service for the community for anyone to judge him for an affair... besides, there are many worse things that can be done in the world than that.

Whoever made the "this isn't law and order, be patient" comment... have you ever dealt with Davidson county police or any Tennessee police? I have to say I do not have full faith in Davidson county police or Tennessee police forces in general. I'm sure there are some really good officers out there, but you know what they say, a few bad apples makes them all look bad.

I just hope they do the damn job they are supposed to do to the fullest. Just don't have a lot of faith in them.

funny how it is more believable if there are drugs or alcohol in her system when we know McNair was know to have enough alcohol in his system to get a DUI or a cab ride home at times

Wouldn't surprise me at all to find high levels of drugs and alcohol in both bodies if that is released. I have a feeling that if McNair did it will be pushed under the table

My point being that it's more believable a seemingly somewhat normal girl would commit murder/suicide under the influence of heavy alcohol or hard drugs.

Riverman, I don't get why you're pushing this image of the girl so hard. Yes, her family said she was happy and healthy and everything was wonderful, but I don't think that that is our most credible evidence, is it? They also said that they didn't approve of the relationship. We also know that her parents were killed at a young age, and that she moved to Nashville at 16 to live with a boyfriend. We also now know that she was charged with a DUI and implied consent violation late last week, when she said that she was not drunk, she was "high", so at least by her own statement she's used some sort of drug. We also now know that she went out and bought a gun sometime on Thursday.

No, we don't definitively know what happened, and we probably never will. However, there's certainly not better evidence to support a double homicide rather than a murder-suicide just based on the fact that most women don't shoot themselves in the head!

Yes, yes, nothing should be ruled out. I don't think that the police are ruling anything out, which is why it hasn't been declared a murder-suicide. However, I think it's ok for people to conclude that that is the more likely story, based on the knowledge that we have now.

Really- I'm not pushing much of anything. I agree with everything you've said although I never said anything about the evidence supporting a double homocide more than a murder suicide. The only points I've made that you haven't alluded to are that I am hoping the investigators rule out a double homocide before declaring it a murder suicide. The reason I hope this is because of the rarity of a young woman-older man homocide -suicide.

Add this rarity to the history obtained by her "ex" including this "internet posting" issue and it makes the possibility of double homocide more real. Young women usually respond to preserve a relationship by becoming pregnant- not committing murder and then a suicide. This event is such an anomaly it simply should not be declared a murder suicide without the fullest of investigation to rule out double homocide.

ProFootballTalk has a very interesting article about this topic. It questions what the cop who pulled over Kazemi (the same cop who pulled over McNair and may have held a grudge against McNair) said to her. Worth a read for sure, even though it's just speculation and I doubt anything will come out of it.

This article makes the point that I've been trying to make for several days.
