Yes we all want VY to be competitive. But we also want VY to do what he said he was going to do 6 weeks ago; "shut my mouth and play ball." This is why it's a good reason for him to shut up, when he opens it, he sticks his foot in there. Nobody was upset 6 weeks ago when he made those comments, we all thought he was on the right path to at least working his butt off and not creating distractions. That was then, this is now.

Apparently whomever was doing the first interview cut him off before he could say how he really felt, like this latest incident. His interview went fine until right there at the very end, the truth came out. You could see Major Adams and Mike Mu trying to cut the feed and pull the mic before VY said anything dumber. Now they have to clean up his mess. Yes, VY is competitive, but he still hasn't shown that he has matured. He can't even give an interview without coming off as bitter or spoiled, no wonder this guy's been handled with kid gloves, he's a PR nightmare. Have fun Fisher:)

i thought i saw a mysterious vanishing thread...

yeah, extra VY threads are the fly on the water to TJ's trout in the stream. :grrhee:

Man, I read that... Vince needs to be worrying about Patrick Ramsey more than he does Kerry Collins. Vince needs to make sure that he is the guy that gets the call should Collins go down. The real battle in training camp at least with the quarterbacks is for the #2.

Also, Vince may be ready to "play ball" (whatever that means) but he needs to find someone who is willing to start him before he starts with this "somewhere else" crap. What is Vince going to do? Make a lateral move like Billy Volek?

Maybe move closer to home and be the Texans backup?

    You can't fix stupid.

I don't mind Vince's statements because I think he is sincerely wants to be a starter again. I also think he has the mind of a 5th or 6th grader- both emotionally and intellectually and that includes his communication skills. He just doesn't appear to be equipped to handle the mental responsibilities of a starting NFL QB.

    You can't fix stupid.

    1. That's a fairly ignorant statement. None of us have any clue right now if he will improve or not.
    2. He earned STAYING on the field and his job right now is pretty much based on how well he played last year.
    3. What? :ha:
    4. He still has the same productive weapons he used last year. So even if the two new ones aren't Randy Moss they can only improve his play.
    5. It adds a dimension to the game opening up existing ones, so yes, this would improve him.

who is a competitive QB?? are you saying vince young is a competitive QB??? how is he competitive??? he was replaced by a 30's something year old qb who took youngs job and kept it. vince did nothing last year or so far this offseason to say he is better. all he has done is run his mouth...so i guess yes...in a jawing contest...vy is competitive.

chris simms has a better shot at starting this year then vince does in the next three

Competitive means someone who wants to compete. It doesn't have anything to do with skill level.

I'm really not sure how the staff didn't see this from the get-go. Scoring a 6 on the Wonderlic DID mean something. That paired with his speaking and not-so-smart traits... huge red flags.

If anyone has taken the wonderlic, they'd understand that it was a big deal that he did so bad. My son could do better than a 6, and he's only 7.

The staff is not to blame. Apparently, it's all on Bud.
    Have you heard Bud speak?
