You guys are crazy.... Why would you cut Chris Davis for an undrafted Free Agent? Chris Davis might beat out Lavelle for the #4 spot. Jeff Fisher said he's impressed with how much Davis improved during the off-season. If anything get rid of Paul Williams for sure... By the way its Dudley Guice Jr. I did a post on him on Cbssports, heres his website. http://www.dudleyguicejr.com/Default.aspx

"Jones isn't a lock but he was signed to be our return guy" -Soxcat

I think he'll get cut. I'd rather see Juice Jr, Davis, Henry or even Ringer returning instead of him.

So did you roll dice to make that determination or use a ouija board?
It is real simple. Jones was brought in as a return specialist. These others you mention are nothing close to being specialists. Also, the hardest position is punt returns not kick returns. I seriously doubt we will hand punt return duties over to a rookie no matter what happens. Davis could get on the roster as a combination returner and WR but he will have to be more than a returner to make the roster.

As for even mentioning Guice as a returner isn't just a little silly to depend on a guy to be a returner when he has no experience doing it? I thought I'd look up Ringers return stats and noticed he isn't a return guy either.

I would love to see Mouton get the kick return job. He looks like he has big play potential. He might need time to ge thealthy and learn to be careful with the ball. Catch then run!

Well lets see here. Darren Sproles the #1 PR in the NFL, returned 10 punts in college. Josh Wilson, the #1 KR in the NFL didn't do a return until his senior year of college.... The only reason Javon Ringer didn't do KR/PR in college was because he was an All-American RB who they didn't want to risk injury with returns.... now i am not saying I want Ringer to be the KR/PR.... my want is Ryan Mouton. Mark Jones is waste of our roster, we have other WR who deserve a spot over him. Mouton was a return man in college and ran a 4.48 with a hammy injury.... Mark jones is ok dont get me wrong, But going into his 7th year. He's been hurt alot... is he still that fast player he once was?

I thought I read somewhere that Jones was doing pretty well at returns and receiving. Either way, I guess we won't really know until they're in pads.

If that is your argument it is pretty weak. It is like saying smoking is not bad for you because you know some guy who smoked 2 packs a day and lived into his 90s. Not saying anything isn't possible but the odds aren't good.

I'm not implying Jones is a lock to make the team but as it stands now he might be the best we have. I also pointed out that PR is a whole different situation than KR. I could see Ringer doing KRs but it is very rare for guys to step in as punt returners, as rookies especially, when they don't have experience in college. You also now say you want Mouton but before Mouton wasn't even in the equation. By the way, Mouton NEVER returned punts in college, only KRs.

Having a very reliable return guy is critical and with Fisher's conservative style he is going to keep a reliable PR guy unless he is really confident someone else can do the job. I do agree that Davis has a chance to win that job if he can hang on to the ball. Davis had some nice returns but got in the dog house because he fumbled. Davis and Jones might be battling it out for the last roster spot.
