Do you think the NFL should punish teams for tampering, or the players and their agents??? I'm not interested in "both", because it would obviously be more effective. I'm interested in one or the other.

As it is, the NFL can make teams forfeit draft picks as well as awarding their picks to other teams as a punishment for tampering. The NFL does, however, have control of all NFL contracts. For the sake of argument, in this poll, let's assume the NFL is willing to reduce a player's contract and bar their agents from signing new clients i.e. an agent suspension.

With the NFL currently investigating the Redskins for tampering, which way would you rather it handled; the Redskins give up a draft pick to the Titans as punishment, or Haynesworth's contract reduced by 25% and his agent suspended???

haynesworth contract reduced by 25% and returned to the titans at their option.

But since this isnt a perfect world, i would settle for a pick taken from the skins awarded to the titans. I didnt know that the team got the pick is this true? can anyone confirm?

Goodell forced the the 49ers to trade their third round pick with the Bears for their third round pick (Bears moved up five places) last year in addition to forfeiting their fifth round pick that the Bears didn't get.

I'm voting for Haynesworth and his agent. While teams definitely put offers out there, I think agents are the big players when it comes to tampering. By reducing the player's contract and and suspending the agent, you give the bad agents bad reputations - reputations that players would be leary of. Eventually, the Rosenhauses and Specks of the NFL wouldn't have too many clients, as they would be seen as high risk by players coming into the league. The Redskins give up their picks for one reason or another most years. What would be learned??? I say let them off the hook and go after the player and agent.

Both is purposely left out. "Both" has already been established as most effective. What I want to know is which fans think would be more effective on its own. I'm also interested in how many Titan fans just want the draft pick or picks. Is it OK that the Redskins forfeit draft picks, and the Titans receive no compensation???

I'd prefer the draft pick because the Redskins, Albert or his agent learning their lesson doesn't really concern me. At the end of the day what I care about is better served by the lesser punishment. For what it's worth, stinging the player and the agent as it is suggested here if more effective in my opinion.

i say the skins...granted both parties are guilty however, the skins where like the other women in this case. they knew that he was still under contract and they still went after him. punish the skins. i say make the give up their first round pick over the next two years.
