A question mark and a prayer.. true.
I'm not a big fan of Vince. I hated how he pouted and didn't want to get back into the game during the Jags game.. and I've been one of the first outspoken doubters of him after his interception happy 2007 season.. but if he's on our roster to stay, then I'd like to see him given the opportunity to prove himself as a passer and game manager. Whats wrong with giving him consistant receivers to compliment our o-line, and smash mouth rushing attack. Thats what I've been saying from the start. Giving him experienced players to utilize and learn from is much better than signing KFC just for the sake of solving our short term problems.

Just curious, what did you read or hear that makes you think Vince is still our QB of the future??? I must have missed it.

You have a point if the objective is simply to eclipse the 500 mark and make the playoffs each year but if you want to be a SB team and consistently be in position to make that run you need a solid QB who can lead the team and generate 4th quarter comebacks when needed. Maybe we don't necessarily need a top 3 QB but we need a solid player like McNair was in his best years. Also, the Steelers had a depleted OL and lost RBs to injury but still won the SB because they had a very good QB. Having a quality QB and being able to win a SB is the norm. Winning a SB without one is by far the exception to the rule.

I forget some guys have a really hard time reading between the lines. Polite, politically correct, a players coach; whatever you want to call it so you don't feel your masculinity threatened. The point is, giving Vince the benefit of the doubt does not bind the team to him forever and ever and until the end of times. By the way ballet is probably as tough as football.

Could the answer be both? (Yes, more than one is a possibility:eek:) Expensive or cheap is relative to what you expect or GET from a player, if you canĀ“t understand this I will explain no further.

Football is a TEAM sport which means the only important stats are the results of the team as a whole.

I ripped MR last year for not doing anything but look how our season turned out. I realized you have to just let the team play out and go with it.

"We don't know what the market's going to be,'' Fisher told the Tennessean. "I believe that Kerry has every intention of coming back. And if he comes back, for all intents and purposes, he's our starter, and Vince waits."

Pit, that's from your article. Kerry is the starter, Vince is the backup. Kerry was told, straight up, that he'd be the starter if he returned.

Fisher is saying what he has to say to avoid a media circus about Vince Young. Honestly, I'm AMAZED at how little that was played up last season. Our starting QB got benched for the season, effectively, and it wasn't the story of our season. The story was that we were winning games, and no one questioned sticking with the hot hand. There wasn't a question every week about who was starting, it was Kerry. However, there wasn't a big hubub about what was wrong with Vince, and why he was in the doghouse, because Fisher made it clear that the team intended him to be the starter again at some point. They pulled that off for a whole season, and it looks like they'll try to do it again. At the same time, Fisher has said that he's told Young that he's got a lot to do if he wants to get his job back. He's also said that it's Kerry's job right now.

He's not being nice, he's being smart, and avoiding drama. Fisher has to walk a fine line, and I think he's done it very well.

fisher handled it really well. said kerry was the starter as long as we won games and we kept winning games. if we were in the midst of a 9-7 season instead of a 13-3 season i can assure you it would have been very different.

So what exactly should Fisher do? Should he just come out and say "I don't think Vince is going to work out and probably won't be on our roster next year, but we're going to keep telling you guys he'll be here to keep him from making a stink in the locker room?" I have never heard a coach do that yet and don't expect to hear one say it any time soon. You have to be able to read between the bull ****.

No matter how many times Fisher says Vince is the QB of the future (which is exactly what he should be saying), the dollars don't add up. Vince's salary next season is way too big for him to be kept around. He would have to win the Super Bowl as the Titans' starting QB to have any chance of being back next season.
