The Good News is that Jason Jones can play DT or DE! And with the Depth we have at DT he may just do that.

Good draft I guess. Like PhiJammaSlamma said in round 1, we took the last good WR on the board. But it felt a little, panicky to me. Still glad we've made the attempt to get a real WR.

Only major complaint is giving away a 2nd in 2010. I would like it a lot more if we just didn't draft that CB from Hawaii, and used that 3rd rounder (and whatever late round picks) to move up 4 spots and get Cook.

Think giving away the 2nd next year was crazy.

I don't like giving away next year's second either, but we definitely needed to add some depth at cb.

I think it's a great draft class, top to bottom it's filled with some hard-nosed football players. I think Britt and Cook will make our defense better by taking a lot of pressure off.

Britt - Has the 2 most important qualities to make a successful transition to the pros: routes and physicality. I think he fits what we need perfectly and now rounds out a suddenly good looking WR corps. Hard to argue with Larry Fitzgerald-like college production. I've heard lots of fans says the questions about his hands are unfounded, and more a factor of some pretty poor QB play. And he'll be a monster blocker downfield, too.

Cook - Forget the comparisons to Troupe - he's also been compared to Calvin Johnson. He is this year's Chris Johnson pick, IMO... a little out of the blue, but Dinger is going to have fun game planning with him. Next year's 2nd will be well worth it. TE was an overlooked need.

Marks - I think our system is perfect for him. He'll be disruptive and aggressive. Solid pick for a team that likes to rotate a lot.

Mouton & McRath - I like what I've read about them, but don't know enough to say. I doubt Mouton will compete with Harper, so that's my only "need" that wasn't filled in this draft. Still good picks, and good value.

Kropog - I'll go with MR and Fisher and take Much's word. Impressive looking production in college. We're set at tackle for a while - will he be a nice backup or can he play guard?

Ringer and the rest - At this point in the draft it's all about competition, depth and special teams. We all know those are MR's specialties and it looks like he's found a good set of guys here.

Honestly this looks like an A or A+ draft. As much as I like to be even-headed and call a great draft a B, we got some great talent for both now and the future. Filled needs and continued to build a solid core. I think Cook is the wildcard, and could be another Troupe - but I love the aggressiveness in getting him.

A couple of thoughts on some people's concerns:

    1. Kenny Britt's hands - Here's what I realized the other night. He caught 87 passes last year! How can you have inconsistent hands and catch that many passes in a 12 game season? How many passes could they have possibly thrown to him last year that he caught 87 and was considered inconsistent?

    2. I think the pick of Marks indicates that we are going to use Jones on the outside more this year. We are incredibly deep on the defensive line, and I think amongst Marks, Jones, Haye, Brown, and Vickerson, we will find a few guys who together can make up for Haynesworth.

I don't see moving Jones out. The Titans will still have Kearse, KVB, Ball, Ford and Hayes. Likely, only four will be active on game day. That gives you Brown, Jones, Marks and Vickerson inside and I don't see any of them commanding a double team like Haynesworth did.

I think Washburn has his biggest challenge ahead.

I like the Britt pick- he certainly has potential to become a very good NFL receiver. I'm not completely sold on Marks and would have almost preferred taking DE Michael Johnson there. I know he's a huge risk, but he's a freak athlete and could learn a lot from our ends and eventually be a replacement there. I'm excited about Cook too- now if we lose Scaife after next year we're set for a while (hopefully).

I think TJ said it best when he said it's either Boom or Bust. I have my reservations of Britt; actually I think every single WR we drafted or picked up undrafted is a carbon copy of Paul Williams.........so I'm not impressed at all.

Sen'Derek Marks is just another body to me, nothing flashy.

I think the only substance in this draft may come from the 2 Corners(Mouton and McCourty) and the Swing OL.

I know that all the fans are happy because we finally took a WR in the 1st; but I think we watched a couple good players go because we felt a need to pick a WR. We are now loaded at WR with a bunch of young inexperienced players who all have measurables, but will have a lot of learning to do because they mostly played in spread offenses. Things are going to be a lot different now just based on coverages and option routes(big-time learning curve for WRs).

Cook is a wildcard too, mainly because of the similarities with Troupe(Spurrier offense, great athlete, poor blocker). The fact that we gave up next year's 2nd adds to the pressure. I think we have lots of potential weapons that are going to take a TON of coaching to be productive.........basically we are very very RAW. We all know that coaching at the skill positions isn't a strong suit for the Titans, so these may be wasted picks just as Paul Williams, Chris Davis, Joel Filani, Courtney Roby, Brandon Jones, Tyrone Calico, etc. I'm worried.
