I just hope this kid makes up for all the WR's duds we've drafted over the past years. This guy looks like he could be a Burress type of receiver for us but quicker.

I agree. We are way over due. This is going to sound silly, and I'm going way out on a limb, but for some reason I can see Edison turning into a very good player and a good compliment to Britt. We've had all this trouble finding wide receivers...I think we get two good ones in this draft.

Like I said, out on a limb, but anything is possible.

If you look at the top WRs, IMO, Britt is the safest pick, especially in our system. I think maybe Fisher liked Nicks a smidge more, but longterm, I really feel Britt looks better. And I'll include Brian Robiskie in this group.

First, say what you want about being born again, I think Britt firmly shut the door on his character concerns from the Titans' perspective.

Britt clearly works hard in the weight room like Harvin. But unlike Harvin and Nicks, he still has room for development. Nicks might have a good career, but he's already admitted he has trouble controlling his weight when he's not working out hard. Robiskie is a consummate worker, but Britt has more big play potential. He has less injury concern also (Maclin, Harvin, Crabtree) and he's more developed than Hayward-Bey is.

He adds big playability in a way we need, by being a big secure target. Yes, there's been a knock on his hands, but the deal is he has shown steady improvement. Hey. He's going to be catching frickin' bricks this summer anyway.

Look at his production as well. No question he's a better pure receiver than Harvin and Bey and maybe Maclin. He has better production than Nicks.

And better than Nicks and Barden (who the Giants got) in this regard, we'll have Britt lumberjacking into DBs (stronger than both), not to mention Cook, both tiring them out as the game goes along. Washington and Hawkins will be running against tired DBs later in the game.

We got an athletic guy in the Dwayne Bowe mold, who is a bit faster and stronger, and Bowe was a hoss coming out of LSU. A tough matchup in the slot, I think on the outside, safety help will be needed, especially for smaller corners. What will be interesting to see is how long it takes for Britt to begin to get game reps on the outside, moving Gage to the slot. And I wonder because he has a little better speed and should be more tiring to tackle in the open field.

With all these new pieces in place, this thing could really explode this year. Kerry and Vince should both be excited.

"I believe I have the receiver attitude when I'm on the field and the ball is in the air," Britt said. "I believe the ball is mine when it is in the air."

something i think all of our guys have lacked since mason.

Calico doesn't count b/c he wasn't just jogging, he was horse collared by Roy Williams. :flamegun:

That still pisses me off to think what might have been...
