Yeah, I know it's a joke but I thought it would be fun to see what everyone thought of the draft before the "experts" weigh in on it tomorrow.

At least as well as I would have done (in the early rounds). I have no complaints.

    Excellent.

We addressed everything we should have. I think this draft also gives me a little room to breathe, knowing that we will most likely re-sign many of our defensive starters next year. Seeing as we mainly (and stangely) drafted more Offensive players, it shows that MR believes that he can reach deals with the guys that we have to re-sign on the D-line and on in the LB corps.

I like the running back pick. I LOVE Britt the more and more I research about him. Cook may have been one of the best decisions we could have made, because he looks the part and I firmly believe he will take over Scaife's position after he is gone. When we let Crumpler go, Stephens will step in as the "blocker".

I don't know much about the two CB's but they both look like killer athletes who can disrupt any WR. They both seem aggressive and FAST.

All in all, congrats, MR. A fine draft. You made a believer out of me.

No sexy picks, no disaster picks. Overall I'd give it a B on Mel's grading system, B+ even. Britt, Cook, and the two linebackers look like top notch picks. Marks and Ringer look decent, dunno about the Tulane OT.

Again, no reaches, and solid picks make our draft probably top 5 out of all the other teams.

The 1st 3 rounds were good.

Some of our later picks are questionable, but I assume their going to be filling special teams roles.

Overall I'd agree with OneTonTitan. B+ Very decent draft for us. We addressed most of the immediate glaring needs we had.

the picks i like; gerald mcrath, javon ringer and jared cook.

picks i don't like; sen'derrick marks, ryan mouton

i'm pretty indifferent about the others. britt was not my first choice, but i don't think it's a bad pick. tropog was munchak's guy, so you have to believe in him. mccourty could be a good returner. i doubt the other guys make the roster.

By far the best draft we've had in the last 3 years.

30 WR Britt - prototype WR. Just keep Roy Williams away from him and this should work out well for Tennessee

62 DT Marks - NOT a Fat Albert replacement, BUT hopefully will get penetration on passing plays. If he gets healthy should slide right into DL rotation

89 TE Dook - Excited that Tennesse saw a guy they wanted and were willing to make a move to get him. Cook could be starting TE in 10' which would make the second given up for him worth it.

94 CB Mouton - a football player. Really like this pick

130 LB McRath - If he plays ST he should be active in 09 and will probably be starting in 10 as Bulluck and Thornton ain't getting any younger

135 OT Kropog - Munchak must have been left alone in the room when this happened - lol Nothing says 13-3 like taking a guy this early at a position you are already loaded at. I liked this pick

173 RB Ringer - so long Henry

203 CB McCourty - so long Reynaldo

206 WR Edison - I'm a Lumberjack and I'm OK, I sleep all night and I catch passes all day. Camp competition, he can at least press the current WR slackers hopefully surpass them.

239 G Durand - Munchak has a inside guy and an outside guy to coach up. I like this pick

242 DB Schommer - Big for a DB. Camp competition. Like Edison hopefully he can help elevate the DBs

One nice thing about having so many picks is that guys like Durand, Schommer and Edison would probably not have been drafted by the Titans and probably would not have been available post draft as UFAs. BUT because Tennessee had so many picks they could load up some competiton with guys who could have probably found an easier path to the NFL.

Overall I am quite pleased with the 09 draft. It is good to be in the position where other teams are waiting for your cuts, instead of Tennessee waiting on their cuts.
