Um...we could have had Darius Butler, Brandon Petigrew, Hakeem Nicks in rnd 1.

I wouldn't take Alphonso Smith over Butler because Smith is only 5'9 and is slow. Could he work out and be a good CB ala Dre Bly? Yes. But Bly was faster and is the ONLY CB in recent memory that overcame being 5'9 and was a good starting CB. 99% become nickel backs and we just re-signed ours to a multiyear contract. Plus, in our system we need a good sized nickel to help stop the run. Smith doesn't fit the bill.

No way would I touch DJ Moore until rnd 3 at the earliest. He's SHORTER than 5'9 and slower than Smith so he will have to play nickel...again, ours is signed for years and Moore isn't a strong enough run defender to play there. And I wouldn't draft a future nickel back in rnd 2.

In rnd 2 I would have preferred Marcus Freeman (OLB), Mike Mickens CB (if not chosen in rnd 1), Shonne Greene (RB), Chase Coffman (TE), Eric Wood (OC) or reach for one of a handful of WR's.

I would have taken Darius Butler in rnd 1 and either Eric Wood (could compete for immediate playing time), Shonne Greene (White is likely gone after this season), or Marcus Freeman (the real heir apparent to Bulluck) in rnd 2.

Have you seen Moore play? The guy made plays at VANDERBILT! and on both sides of the ball at that. Finnegan isn't exactly a giant himself, even though he does have the speed, Yeah I doubt we go two straight DB's but Moore has gotten the hype for a reason, the guy can flat out make plays.

I'm not going to comment on two DBs taken. Yes I am. That makes no sense at all.

I mean, these dudes are short, and our team is run by DBs these days, it seems, but they're not Pokemon. We don't "Gotta Catch 'Em All" ya know.

On the serious side, thanks for posting this and including us. It's still cool of you. Thanks for putting up the picks so far, Gut.

    Well...

Yes, I have seen Moore play several times. He's a very good college CB. The problem is not his instincts...but his athleticism. He's slow...especially for being 5'8+ and that's a big problem when 6'2-6'4 WR's aren't exactly uncommon...and most of them run FASTER than Moore. Short and slow is a bad combo in the NFL. Nearly all players like him end up at nickel at best. We don't need a nickel since we have fuller.

I really like Moore as a player, I just don't think he fits our system that well. And since he needs to be in a zone scheme and probably will end up a nickel back...I wouldn't take him in rnds 1 or 2.

    Lol....

Mybe we've reached critical mass in the number of former db's who are Titans coaches and we will draft the best 3 CB's in rnds 1-3 to address our future need and depth!:)

And yes, thanks for including us...it's fun! And np GLinks! I don't like picking 'in the dark.'

Kenny Britt isn't very good. Not worth a 2nd, anyway.
