Cutler to the Titans was never going to happen. He is the wrong kind of QB for fisherball. He's great, and I wanted him out of the draft, but knew that was a wasted dream.

i wasnt saying if i was with the titans. just meerly stating, that if my defense only allowed seven points a game, and i put up eight, i would be undeafted. i was crackin a joke on someones previous post

At some point your defense has to help you out,you cant expect to win every shootout. Cutler has never had a top 10 defense since coming to Denver which doesnt mean it would make him an automatic winner but i'm sure some of those shootouts he lost would be games he should of won. When your defense cant stop the opposing team from scoring it puts pressure on you to make plays and your going to start forcing throws,it happens.

That had nothing to do with it. The cost made it impossible for us to get him seeing that we pick 12 spots after the bears. When you look what the bears paid to get him for us to have gotten cutler would have meant giving up collins and entire draft.

What the titans would have to give up to make that same trade.

Based on titan jeff's trusty draft trade chart even both our first and 2nd rd picks are not as valuable as the bears 1st and 3rd rd picks.

So at minimum our top 2 picks this year and our top pick next year plus kerry collins for jay cutler and the broncos 5th this year.

Even that might not have been enough maybe we wouldn't get that 5th rd pick.

The bears were willing to make the deal because they get a good QB with uncommon talent a gun arm who is only 25 years old.

The bears picking 18th would not have had a chance at a top quality QB in the draft and would have had to trade up just to get sanchez and i'm sure the price to do that was taken into consideration in doing this deal.

Hey mr deangelo byron leftwich would have cost you no draft picks at all!

Cutler is a good quarterback don't get me wrong....but he had A LOT of weapons in Denver.

I'll be interested to see how he does in Chicago (and how Orton does with weapons)

Just because he put up 30 a game in Denver doesn't mean he could have done the same here

Oh, RT, I think that the type of QB's and their strengths and weaknesses plus a team and coach's style and philosophy have a great deal to do with what players are chose for a team. I don't think it is all about money. The Titans are a run first, throw if absolutely necessary, team. Cutler's greatest worth is as a passing QB, not a game manager like KC, which is what a run offense tough defense team needs. I really think it is more about playing style than money.
