    Ah...

As I said, even if the Broncos rush attack was great...it wouldn't matter since you aren't gonna score 35 points a game with a strong rushing attack.

And you can't be serious that you'd give all or most of the credit to MANNING for the Colts being first and second in scoring D? If that were true, why didn't Dan Marino have better Defenses?

No doubt a dominant offense and QB helps a lot and that is HOW the Colts are designed. Outscore the other team, have 2 great pass rushing DE's, have athletic LB's and play a cover 2 behind it to force turnovers. The fact that they've had a D be the best in the league but also give up 20 a game somewhat dispels this theory that it's all Manning.

No matter how you slice or dice it, Cutler is already a good QB and could be great. Of course, he may never be consistently good in critical spots. But right now, all signs are looking good. Who would you take right now if you were starting a team...Vince Young, Matt Leinart, or Jay Cutler?

I don't think anyone is questioning who is the best out of those three... It's just a matter of deciding what is the best decision for the Titans for this next season. Kerry is guaranteed to be a good decision maker 95% of the time... Jay Cutler will be much more likely to throw interceptions. Kerry averaged about 1 INT every other game. Cutler will average about 1 INT per game.

The picks are overrated imo. yeah, he threw more picks than collins last year but he also had about 200 more attempts. Factor in the fact that he was their offense last year and their defense was playing horribly so he had to force throws a lot more than collins and i think cutler would do much better than collins would in a titans uniform next year. and then there's the added benifit of cutler's potential.

imo trading for cutler is a no-brainer. do it if at all possible.

I don't think 1 INT per game is too much of a problem... if he can throw them in areas where Kerry usually did, then I really wouldn't mind. About 4 or 5 out of Kerry's 7 INTs were actually thrown in decent spots... they turned out to be just like punts.

I would love Cutler to come here, but I'm not sure he'd be willing to throw 25 passes per game rather than nearly 40... not like it's his choice where he plays though.

I would love for him to come play for us, but I don't see it happening. I don't think we'd be willing to give up Collins and 2 1st-round picks. The Jets need him more than any other team.

    Interesting...

Cutler, when forced to play from behind and have to throw the ball a ton, threw an INT once in every 34.2 throws. IF he kept that rate as a Titan, he'd avg LESS than 1 INT a game since he wouldn't be putting it up 40-50 times...more like 20-25 attempts. Translated, he would have thrown 12 INT's if he had Collins' attempts. The Flip side is that Collins avg'd a TD throw once every 34.6 passes or less than 1 per game. Cutler avg'd one TD pass every 24.6 throws. Translated to Collins attempts...equals about 18 TD's. So IF you used Cutler's rates from last season, he would have put up 18 TD's and 12 Int's to Collins 12 TD's and 7 Int's. Collins' ratio of TD to INT is a bit better...BUT...

If we remember that Collins usually only had to orchestrate 17 points a game and for the most part, could pick and choose when he threw so as to keep the D off-balance...and compare that to Cutler having to force throws to try and score as many points as possible and throw when the other team's D was playing pass 100% means if you swapped the players...their ratios likely flip to.

Collins would have more TD's than he did last year, but also more INT's. Cutler throiws fewer TD's because he'd be more careful with the ball, would have fewer attempts, and wouldn't have to force throws, so his INT's would also go down.

Realistically...they have very comparable numbers given their circumstances. I think you'd take numbers like what Collins gave us last year for the next decade...yes? And Cutler has a lot more room to improve...

I'm just saying... I would love Cutler, but there's no way it's happening. The Titans never get huge trades done. That's a fact.

I'd be willing to give up Kerry Collins, Vince Young, 1st-round pick from this year, and a 1st-round pick from next year. It wouldn't be a very interesting draft for the next two years, but it would be well worth it IMO.

The Broncos are still trying to repair the relationship, so we'll have to see. I'm betting he'll go to the Jets.

What about the Bills?... They could use a better QB... Cutler, Owens, Evans... pretty good weapons... too bad Lynch is going to be suspended for a while :)

Bills are happy with Edwards as their QB so no go for them. Lynch will probably only get a game...maybe 2.

I think it will be a bad mistake if the Jets get him. He is a whiner and has only had to deal with the Denver media. Can you imagine how he'll handle the NEW YORK MEDIA?!?!?!?

    UGH!

As a Mets fan, I'm pretty convinced the "New York Media pressure" is a huge myth. Yea it's huge and persistent, but many players in New York just ignore the press or tell them to go shove it. Sure they have bad relationships with the media, but it doesn't necessarily affect their game.

Just to use baseball examples (more familiar sorry): the Mets traded Scott Kazmir in part because they thought he couldn't handle said pressure, and that ended up being one of the worst trades in baseball history. Or, conversely, Carlos Beltran is fantastic while avoiding the media and Bobby Bonilla was a great player while constantly attacking media members.

Sure the spotlight is greater, but I have a hard time imagining that trading for Cutler would not make the Jets MUCH better.
