    First thing I notice:
Vince is getting better. Cutler is getting worse.
    Vince Wins. Cutler Loses.
Vince at his worst equaled Collins at his best.

    Please.Young is a turnover machine.

He didn't lead us to the play offs in 07' either, the Defence did.

I think if he gets dealt it'll be to Tampa Bay.

RavensShallBurn, nice sig. What, was a pic Bennett dropping the ball against the Pats in the playoffs not available?

Anybody who says right now that Vince is better than Cutler is being a total homer... Vince won us a few games his rookie year, but since then, the defense has carried him. Just like someone else said, if Vince is a great QB because "he just wins" then you would have to put Rex Grossman in the same category.

Cutler literally was the reason that the Bronco's won each and every game that they were able to win last season... He had too many interceptions, but look at the number of times he was throwing last season. Great article here discussing Cutler's stats:http://www.nfl.com/news/story?id=09000d5d80f4df92&template=with-video-with-comments&confirm=true

Dude that's a nice summary but I don't think it's fair or advisable to only look at the last 4 games of their seasons. There's much more going on with a teams at that time than is shown by looking at their QB stats.

The Broncos had become a pass first one dimensional team at that point.Their RB injuries really killed them in the red zone.

Vince had his best statistical games in 07 but his swings between good games & bad games were severe. He was showing improvement overall and has another chance coming up.He's guaranteed to see a lot of action in the pre season.

I think a big sign of improvement in Cutler last season was that his sacks dropped from 27 to 11.

Protecting the football is big irrespective of your offensive scheme but in a run first offence it's huge.Turnovers are my biggest concern with Young.

    Over each players last full season;

    TD/Pass ratio Int/Pass Ratio Fumbles/Lost
    Collins 1:35 1:60 5:1
    Cutler 1:25 1:34 5:2
    Young 1:42 1:22 10:3

For every 10TDs thrown Collins threw 6 interceptions,Cutler 7 interceptions and Young 19 interceptions.

    Thanks man.

I looked for that picture for a long time. I couldn't find it... that game was another example of why the refs hate the Titans. That should have been pass interference and everyone knew it... I just wish Bennett could have acted it out better.

When I saw this, I thought someone was kidding and then kept going and actually read it to be serious. If tomorrow every NFL team was dissolved and they had a new draft and started with QB, in 100 out of 100 mock drafts Cutler would be drafted before VY. Given Cutler's age, he would easily be in the top 5, maybe even #1.

In Vince's 2007 season here are the pts our defense allowed: (only 10 wins)
    10, 22, 14, 13, 13, 36, 9, 7, 28, 23, 17, 6, 10:
    Average: 13 pts
1 game in 30's and KC came in to real off a season high 38 that game,
    half were 14 or less.
So, for our offense to just score 2 TD's a game yields 8 wins.
ONLY 4 GAMES WE GAVE UP MORE THAN 17 PTS.

Now Cutler's 2008 defense (he got 8 wins with his defense giving this up):
    14, 38, 32, 33, 13, 24, 41, 26, 30, 20, 31, 17, 17, 30, 30, 52
    Average: 28 pts per game
2 games at 14 pts or less (in only 2games cutler had the luxury of what titans D AVERAGED)
    HALF AT 30+
And, in the first 13 games Cutler was 8-5 with his D giving up 6 games of 30+ and only 3 less than 20.

To compare the win/loss of the 2 quarterbacks of teams that had night and day defenses to work with is pointless. Well, until you see that Vince only got 2 more wins with a top grade defense and Cutler got 8 with a high school team on D.

If a quarterback is only as good as his defence why do we need Cutler?

That's why I gave you his qb rating too. Vince outplayed him down the home stretch. Not all qb's have it when it's on the line. Jay is the exact opposite of Elway. He's not managing critical situations, red zone, 3rd down when the pressure is on. But not only is he not Elway down the home stretch, he's less than Vince Young too. The Stats show it.

Did anyone read the article I posted? Cutler was money in pressure situations... He threw several picks in the 4th quarter because Denver was losing the games, and he either had to gun throws or they were going to lose regardless. Cutler threw an unbelievable number of passes last year (Vince has only thrown about 150 times more in his career than Jay did last season)... so you can't just look at the number of interceptions thrown. His int to attempt ratio was 1:34 last year, which is very favorable, and is actually an improvement from his career average of 1:33. Young's ratio in 07 was 1:22, and his career average is 1:24. The one game he played last year he was 1:18. Terrible numbers... especially considering how dependent the Titans are on not turning the ball over.

And if you want to base Cutler's ability on "the home stretch", you have to mention that he averaged about 40 attempts per game over that stretch, and his defense gave up over 32 points a game in that stretch. The one game Denver won, the defense gave up only 17 points, and Cutler had a 102.7 rating. The last 3 games, Denver was starting literally their 4th and 5th string RB's and the defense gave up 30, 30, and 52 points... Sounds just like the situation Kerry and Vince were playing in. Not to mention, most of the NFL writers said it's probably going to take 2 first rounders to get Jay... John McClain just said yesterday that the Titans wouldn't even get a 7th rounder right now from Vince, and we would probably have to give up draft picks in order to get someone to take him.

Quotes from the article... which is a good read...

"Only Jacksonville's David Garrard threw more passes in the fourth quarter of games than Cutler, who completed 100 of 167 passes for 1,212 yards and 11 touchdowns with just four interceptions

He was No. 3 in the NFL in third-down efficiency, the "money" down. The average NFL team converted 39.5 percent of its third downs; Cutler converted 47.5 percent."
