Eh...I'm pretty sure the guy that pumps Kerry Collins' gas could get 150 yards passing a game, and do it for a lot less money, but ah well.

He knows the offense. And he's not Vince Young. That's about the best I can say for him.

Speaking of.......what does this signing say about Vince Young? The Titans were willing to match any offer NOT to have to play Bince Young. If Collins has a good offseason and camp, should VY be on suicide watch??? Should we offer him to the Texans now that they don't have a backup?? interesting, very interesting.

The organization isn't giving up on Vince; They are just putting us in the best situation to win a championship, and that would be WITHOUT Vince under center.

I think Vince is ok as long as he's NOT playing. That's when he'll need the suicide watch.

Collins: 'I am where I wanted to be'

Posted by ESPN.com's Paul Kuharsky

The Titans just sent out quotes from Kerry Collins, who remains the Titans' starting quarterback with what ESPN.com senior writer John Clayton has reported as a two-year, $15 million contract with $8.5 million guaranteed.

   Collins

About the process and if it was a relief to get the contract done:

Kerry Collins: First of all let me say I am where I wanted to be and I want to thank Mr. Adams, Mike (Reinfeldt), Jeff (Fisher) and the coaches for everyone's support. I am relieved to get it done. This is where I wanted to be and my family loves Nashville. It is just part of the process. Free agency comes about and there are lots of talks and rumors. At the end of the day, this is where I want to be and I am happy it worked out.

What was the interest level from other teams?

KC: There was definitely interest that came in [Friday] from other places, but when things got going really well with the Titans, I forgot about those other things and just concentrated on being here and I am glad it worked out.

What are the expectations for the upcoming seasons?

KC: I think we need to look at taking it a step further. We had a great regular season and it didn't end up the way we wanted it to in the playoffs, but we have the nucleus and the people to take another run at it and I am glad to be a part of it.

Kerry has been around the block enough to know he's in a dream situation for a QB of his age and experience. All that's asked is that he manage the game, and we're a legit contender for the SB. That, and he rarely gets hit thanks to a great O-line, which makes his job about as easy as it could be.
