Or pass on Albert, spend on a receiver, pencil J-Jones in as a DT and draft a DE.

What kind of precedent does it set for those same players with the organization being cheapskates??? I'm definitely not saying they should break the bank for Haynesworth, and that precedent can be put to rest with several players who have already inked new (and lucrative) deals in the last couple years. I'm simply saying I don't like the "Don't pay him because it will upset the locker room" angle. Do you really want your team to be a launch pad???

Sure we can afford him but how will that effect our salary cap in the long run? Sure it will be nice to have him, but what about our other FA, and future rookies of ours. Not to mention we got other starters that will be FA next season. I just dont want this to turn out like it did a couple of years ago, when we let go off mason, rolle, dyson, carter. We lost 5 good starters cause of salary cap issues.

I don't really care much about the effect on our salary cap as many things could be done or might even happen to keep our cap intact..

My only worry is that AH changes and goes back to becoming a sloppy uninterested fatty.

I'm all for signing him though. I hope I don't regret it.

If we lost Albert who would replace him?

    Exactly.

It's rare a player is worth building a scheme around. When they're gone iot's time to change the scheme.

We don't need to mortgage our team's future over one huge fat a____ that has trouble staying on the field. If he was more durable, maybe he'd be worth it. I think as soon as he gets his contract, we'll see the albert of old. Always injured, always on the sideline. I say take that money and buy a couple very good, reliable replacements for him. Let someone else tie up that kind of money on the sidelines.
