Why I don't want an elite WR in our lineup.. if Vince is QB

I would give the titans 1st round pick and SEC's left nut to have the best TE of all time playing here the next 2 years.

He only counts $4M against the cap this year and $4.5M against the cap next year. That is a major bargain!

Gonzales is the same age now that shannon sharpe was in 2000 when he was on the super bowl ravens. Lets get the guy and give in that ring!

Collins and Gonzales did have good chemistry in the probowl.

Id rather build around VY. I love watching him play and cant see Collins getting us to the Super Bowl. Oh and I don't feel like being bashed so save it. That's just my opinion.

 

I'd love to have Tony G. here. More than any WR available. But he says he'll play 2 more years at most? Maybe just 1 year? It doesn't look like he's done, but what he sees in the future could complicate things a bit. Maybe if they talked big bucks to him, he could change his mind I'd be all for it.

But man wouldn't that be egg in Crump's face?

I do think our passing game would surely be better with someone like Boldin. The guy is great after the catch, yards could be had there instead of precision Peyton Manning passes that VY will never throw....if he's under C again....aw who the hell knows?!

 

You can also have a "big target" at WR who can make the QB's job easy. It doesn't have to be a TE. Why not bring in a WR who can be a big target and still be able to stretch the field every once in a while. Vince can and WILL be successful passing the ball to a worthy receiver. Look at what he did with Limas Sweed. He was a big target that could also stretch the field. I do recall VY having some success with Sweed in college (championship).

Well, Pittsburgh beat us to Sweed, so what do we do now?

Plus, Gage can also be that "big target" that makes the QB's job easier, as long as there is someone worthy of getting the defenses attention on the opposite side of the field... DHB!

 

With two great rbs, and a qb that should run more, theyll stack the box, and as usual, our wrs wont make a play, why dont we need a good wr?
