Free agency, but I doubt we let him go

Cutting him will still result in us taking a $4mil hit to our cap.

Potential means that you haven't accomplished anything yet. Potential is the most over used words in all of sports. VY won't go anywhere. And could very well possibly retire when he realizes he will be 3rd on the depth chart in 09.

I would like to add that Buffalo and a black qb will not happen. That city may have had the first black qb, and they may need a qb now, and Vince Young certainly beat them, but they are so far removed from having another that it could be another 10 years. And I'm just telling the truth. That city is not ready.

Houston is by far the best opportunity for him to start instantly. Schaub would be pushed aside for the second coming. Gaining the top two picks from any draft is instant gratification. It has been postulated this is a good fit because it is. Schaub is more or less holding the position down, but with no sense of purpose, or urgency.

St. Louis is an option. Buldger is done. He has weapons, he didn't get it done. No question Vince could go in there and be successful almost immediately. Last year put an end to that experiment. It's only a matter of time before it's done. Vince could be the reason to end it early.

Minnesota - Gus Frerotte and Tavaris Jackson. Vince could do better. Minnesota may be tired of a running qb, but Vince Young gives them hope.

Chicago - Vince doesn't really fit in here. But they do need a qb. They always have needed a qb. Vince could slide into a starters role, but I think it would be a failed experiment in the cold weather.

SF - Basically looking. Need an infusion of energy. Singletary willing to take on the oddest of qb's. Might fit in.

KC and Detroit - Both have high picks, and both will want qb's, but if they can get Vince Young, they may be willing to pick elsewhere and go after a qb in 2-3 years. He's a great fit in Detroit. In KC, I'm not so sure he would thrive from a cultural standpoint. But he's a jolt of energy for both teams.

Tampa Bay - I could see this happening for sure.

Jacksonville - Garrard is on his way out. Not sure that Vince could be starter here. But Garrard is on shaky ground now.

Washington Redskins - Jim Zorn is a scrambler. He may be willing to try Young. I think he may tire of Jason Campbell. The fans in DC are relentless, but they already have a young qb in the wings. But don't count this team out. They need a leader.

Cassell is going to get the top spot unless the Pats hold him.
Garcia will fill a veteran role as needed.
After that, Young is a great choice for a lot of teams. There are some options. The qb options are limited for sure. It's a good time.

As far as the logistics. I think a 4th or 5th is possible. That's a steal. Teams would bite. As for who get's traded to us for cap reasons, I have no idea. Keep in mind carolina and peppers are having problems. Vince for Peppers may not make sense, but it saves face for Carolina. Vince needs to be starter though. He could backup for just about anyone. But he's a starter. I predicted he would demand a trade. I still forsee that happening once Collins is signed. And I think teams wuld do it just to bring people into the stands. Vince instantly does that, especially in Houston. I could easily see him starting elsewhere next season.

I believe the NFL as a whole has gotten past any color barrier. Pittsburgh has embraced Mike Tomlin, and he has reward them with a Super Bowl appearance. Teams are interested in ANYONE that will enable them to win. I promise you they will not steer from that goal on the basis of a candidate's color.

And, if they choose to stay away from Vince because of his color, that is their right, and over time they will eventually feel the consequences of their poor personnel decisions based on traits of players/coaches aside from ability.

I have to disagree with you on about half of these. If Schaub (yes, a big if) can stay healthy he's easily a top 12 QB.

Bulger is not done. He had zero protection and not much of an offensive force all year long. What did Steve Jackson and Holt do this year? Nothing.

    Minnesota I'll give you.

KC is in no need of a QB. Tyler Thigpen proved he could be a solid QB this year. They need WR/RB/D help more than anything.

Anyone could play for Detroit right now.

Tampa Bay... who knows what's in store for them next year. Possibility

Jacksonville would definitely be a fit based on what they've had the past 8 seasons.

Don't even joke with me about my Skins getting VY. A mobile QB is not what we want and would not work well with our team.

PhiSlammaJamma, Vince Young sucks, nobody wants him and we are stuck with him. He has about all the marketability of Pacman Jones.

Yeah I don't think discrimination in hiring based on color is a right in this country...
