AH is a different player post-stomp. There isn't much denying that he became more dynamic once he got technique training and learned how to focus his aggression into his play.

Of course there is still risk. The biggest question is when AH gets the longterm $$$ will he still work as hard? And he has injury concerns.

But I'm convinced without AH's career resurrection there is no way this defense would've been as good the last two seasons.

Then half those posters would have been making a very bad call. Even when AH wasn't at the top of his game like he is now, he was a very solid player who showed signs of great play when healthy.

Al alone won't turn around a defense imo. We have other really good players on this D, and Detroit will need a few more players to really step up their D. Not sure if Shwartz will run their D, but I think it's safe to say his D relies on players more than scheme.

So if we play the Lions again, Wartz wont use his Knowledge of our defense to help his own team right?

I hope he relies on a 10 yard cushion on third and 4, and there better not be one!

Did you ever see the guy play safety? He was a monster. Basically invented helmet-to-helmet contact. Their wasn't a guy in the league even close to the hitter that Cecil was (including Ronnie Lott, and I love Ronnie Lott).

Not bashing Schwartz on a day when he just got a promotion. He did well this year and deserves his chance to be head coach. I think he would be a better head coach than defensive coordinator.

Having said that....Our defense is stacked with great talent from the D-line, linebackers and secondary. Even our back ups played fairly well. The only way that our defense doesn't perform better next year is if Fisher makes a poor choice or we lose too many pieces. I personally think that pound for pound is defense is the MOST talented in the league we don't have any weaknesses. I think I defense is MORE talented than Baltimore's. I know he wont but I wish Fisher would go with an old school, knock your block off type of coach to bring back the defensive intensity.

I know he want but oh well.

We see how well that worked out against Baltimore. :irked:

I too wish him the best. Said earlier that I think he be even better at head coaching.

So our D cordinator is gone. Who would make us a top 5 D again? Who will replace schwartz?
