    What if?

I would definitely take Anquan Boldin even if it meant more picks.

Less of a mouth and more production.

Boldin for sure, at least you know what you're getting.

Q, no question no doubt. Chad's antics last off season paired with his performance this season has lowered his stock considerably. I bet the Bengals are kicking themselves right now...imagine the possibilities 2 1st round draft picks could have gotten you.

Doubt there is any debate on this issue.

Boldin fits our offensive personality better. Most of his catches are at 10yds or less, but he has really great RAC yards...so anyone looking for Fitzgerald's kind of downfield heroics won't find it in Boldin.

Neither of them. Cost is too high and the cap hit too big.

Boldin is somewhat injury prone. He has missed 20% of his games and was out for the biggest game the cards have played since 1947. The last 2 seasons he has missed 5 games.

I'd be happy if we landed a real threat, but there aren't many out there and the cap hit would be significant. I tend to think a true possession receiver might make even more of an impact... a guy who just runs great routes, finds the soft spot in a zone, or can get off the line clean in press coverage. Essentially a Derek Mason, which we may already have on the roster in Lavelle Hawkins. Still too early to see if he can transition to the pros, but a guy that can move the chains like a TE but with more speed and range than a TE.

I'd be happy with Boldin... I'd love if the Lions decided they need to completely rebuild and trade (the other) CJ for some draft picks. :) But if we re-sign our FAs I think we'll wind up looking to Hawkins and Brandon Jones to step up.

Boldin forsure esp if next year is our window of opportunity. However, Brandon Jones looks to me to be turning the corner, I was extremely happy with his production this year esp in big games against Chicago, and most recently against the Jets and Texans. I just remember slants coming his way and most of the time unlike JMAC he produces. Gage is turning into the MAN though, we just need a deep field threat, anybody in the draft come to mind???
