As if my (other) 0-16 Lions aren't proof enough...

It looks like the Lions are going to hire Jim Schwartz as their new head coach. Yes! That's great news for EVERY Titan fan- except me. I can't escape this guy. I know he'll be hired by them, just because of how much the Sports God hates me.
Let's get a quick re-cap just so you understand:

My Lakers? Do great and lose to the Celtics.
My Memphis Tigers? Do great and lose the the Kansas Jayhawks. (seriously?)
My Detroit Tigers? (just 2 seasons ago) Were the best team in the league and then lost to the unlikely St Louis Cardinals.
My Michigan Wolverines? We don't talk about my Michigan Wolverines.
My Tennessee Titans? Best record in the NFL and lose in the 1st game to the Ravens.
Do you know how much the SEC would suck if it werent for me??

Oh...that's not all. Not a single team I've wanted to win a championship game (college, NBA, NFL, etc) has won in the last 5 years. No matter how much better they are than the other team- if I want them to win, they'll lose. Guaranteed.
The Giants? You saw that miraculous catch? It was because of ME.
That Reggie Bush lateral-fumble and the VY run? Because of ME.
Rhodes and Addai bailing Peyton Manning out? Because of ME.

If you ever want to win money on sports betting, simply ask me who I want to win any big game. You'll win. I promise you.

Oh, when the Titans lost Saturday I decided 'well, I'll just root for the Panthers now'. Me and my wife go out to eat- I look up at the TV in the bar and it's 27-7 Cardinals. God snickers from above...

Weak. You got nothing on me.

We already know about the Titans so I'll forgo them.

Yankees- Years of not winning in the playoffs and seeing the rival Sox win twice.
Wizards- Injuries, injuries injuries and now they suck.
Blue Jackets- Still no playoff appearances, 1 year away from setting that dubious record.

    Finally....

Buckeyes- We lost THREE championships in ONE year! Twice to the Gators a team I cannot stand! And just for kicks we lose to LSU with their Michigan alum as head coach. Not to mention all of those losses were blowouts (the basketball game not so much though). Then add in the blowout to USC and the heartbreaker to Texas it's safe to say the sports gods hate me more than anyone else.

    Puh-leeeease!!!

Oilers - 30 years and nothing (modern Superbowl era). The greatest moments in the team's history was filling the Astrodome with 50,000 people after back to back losses in the playoffs at Pittsburgh to welcome them home.

    Texans - Nada.

Astros - 1 WS appearance, no pennant. (Sorry, divisional penants mean nothing).

Rockets - 13 years since last championship. Stacy McLady can't stay on the court and when She-Mac is on the floor, McPurse opens up the largest can of quit - ever.

My two Schools (started at TAMU; finished at UH):

Texas A&M - hasn't won a National Championship in football since 1939 (yes I said 1939). The last conference Championship was 1998.

University of Houston - Hakeem, Clyde, Guy V. Lewis, Phi Slamma Jamma - 3 consecutive final fours. Result? 0 National Championships.

    Y'all are amateurs. :grrhee:

At least God isnt teasing you as much making it look like your team is going to win only to snatch it away.
The Memphis/Kansas game craps on anything else.

And again, NO ONE can compare to how whoever I want to win any big game (mostly championships) will lose. Doesn't even have to be my team. Any team I want to win is doomed.

I did say this was Floridas year to win it in college, but when they lost to Ole Miss, I completely wrote them off. Then wanted OK to beat them- so of course they win.

To me that's worse than rooting for bad teams. But for me it's the worst of both worlds. With the Titans, OSU and the Yankees it's like they have great regular seasons and blow it when it counts so you get your hopes up and then they shatter them. But just to be safe with the Blue Jackets and Wizards it's just losing losing losing.

Last year God let me get my hopes up with the lions starting 6-2. That was awesome. Then he thumps me in the face, pulls my pants down in front of everyone, and runs off laughing...once again.

Ok try this on for size.

Cubs - need I say more. Over 100 years no WS championship, two years in a row swept in the playoffs first round. (Nashville please get a MLB team!)

Vandy (football specifically, but sports in general)- finally after 26 years without a bowl or winning season and 55 without winning a bowl they get some dues by winning the Music City Bowl.

Titans - we all know. One yard short, two number one seeds failed, dropped passes, yada yada.

Nashville Predators - four years of first round playoff exits, Canadian billionare tried to move team to Canada, firesale by previous owner, Russian dude Benedict Arnold

    Bengals from 77 to present
    Titans for a decade
Reds from around 74 to present
    Buckeyes from 78 or 79

That adds up 3 Superbowl losses, 3 World Series wins and one National Championship win..

I'd trade all the above for one Titans ring
