Just so you know, this isn't meant directly at you. I'm mostly concerned due to the fact that so many visiting fans show up, and often they're in Titans season ticket holders' seats.

Of course they're your tickets, and you have every right to do whatever you want with them. If you want to provide free seating for visiting rival fans every week of the year, you're allowed to do that. It doesn't mean that it's either a good idea, or the "right" thing to do, whatever that means. I can understand anyone having money concerns right now, so I'm not criticizing that decision. However, justifying selling your playoff tickets to finance a super bowl trip that may not occur not only makes very little sense, but it actually hurts both the team and the rest of the fans, making it less likely that you'll actually have a super bowl trip to pay for. Yes, you're only talking about a couple of tickets, but you can't deny the collective atmosphere change that happened at the Steelers game. Little decisions add up, and yours will effect the gameday experience. It's your decision to make, I'm just trying to convince you to follow my advice. I really hate seeing our stadium fill up with opponents' fans, and seeing our home field advantage diminished. If you sell to opposing fans, you can no longer complain.

    I don't understand.

If it comes down to selling my two divisional tickets and going to the superbowl (if the titans make it), or not selling the tickets and NOT going to the superbowl.. how does that make little sense?

If I sell the tickets and we lose, it's not like I'll be so disappointed I didn't attend the game. How does that not make sense?

Bottom line, we kicked the Steelers ***. I think if anything it motivated our team to play harder seeing all the yellow towels waving.

I don't think your argument holds up.

Your just such a positive person? Do you expect there to be no lines at large events? Thats just how it is. I am pretty sure if someone gave you a free ticket to a titans game you would go.

The Colts went through this in 99, when we went to the RCA Dome nad made such a ruckus the home team Colts had to go to a silent snap count.

I understand the profit motive, and believe me fully support it. Most of the folks I met here in Steelers garb had purchased their tickts weeks if not months prior to the game, and a lot of the folks in black and gold were local. There are a lot of single game tickets around me, and most times the folks sitting there are from the visiting team. Besides the fact that teams like the Jets, Steelers, Packers, etc. have a fanbase nationwide, plus they travel.

It does say a lot of Nashville in that our playoff tix were gone in 5 minutes, since it looks like blackouts will be in force in Minnesota and Arizona. Even with extensions they are scrambling to sell thousands. Only 55% of the season ticket holders purhased Vikings playoff tickets.

Titans tickets have always been in demand, and scalpers and fans alike know they can probably profit. I even tried to get online and buy some, but I already have mine so if I did procure more it would have been to sell them.

I don't want a playoff incident at home like we did to the Colts, especially if we play the Ratbirds. One thing is certain, with the economy the way it is, and with Baltimore being a distressed area even prior to the economy heading south, maybe they will all stay home.

first, twelfth man is overrated. It is no where near as effective as we would like to believe it is. Second, if the Tennessee and Nashville area laws pertaining to tickets and resale were changed all of a sudden the Titans would not be an automatic sell out. Say what you want about the fair weather types and the people that leave a tied ball game at half time. I understand the outrage that most hardcore fans feel as the average fan is not as fervent as goTitans.com posters are, I truly do understand that, but trying to legislate our way to a rowdier, more loyal fan base is not the answer. It will keep tickets out of the hands of the public and in the box office. The broadcasts Nashville area fans enjoy will be subject to black out and the city would be at risk of losing the team.

I would rather have a few more empty seats and a few extra out of towners than the Titans under black out or even worse, no Titans at all.

good points. If the makeup of the fans in the stands is an issue it should have been addressed in 1998 when they set up the PSL system. Everyone signed 30 year contracts and that includes the ticket brokers from wherever who threw their money into PSL also.

I'm glad for the PSL system. It keeps us funded. I don't think that means that we can't complain about fans who sell to opposing fans though.

Sure, we can complain. There's nothing wrong with that. It's just a fruitless endeavor. I would like to keep the complaining limited to psl holders complaining on other psl holders though. It gets on my nerves when people who don't fork out the cash for the tickets talk down on the people that financially support Titans football. I do it at extreme personal sacrifice. You know, back in October... I actually took a Colts fan to the MNF game as my personal guest. He is a good buddy of mine. Some of the guys and gals here on the website actually met him. I don't want to hear crap from people who don't even buy tickets typically making a stink with me about who I choose to associate with. I could have brought a rabid Titan fan with me who would have made as much noise or more noise than anyone in the section.... but it's up to me what I do with my ticket and I don't need to feel any shame because my friend likes another team. That's just stupid.

I can certainly understand that. A friend is a friend, regardless of who they support. I just don't like it when people sell their tickets to strangers who are opposing fans. I know it's not something that's going away, but that doesn't mean we should like and accept it.
