Volek is a puss...................We did what was best for our team...................Collins is taking us to the SB.

exactly. But not according to Coach RollTide. Best I can tell he seems to think we should not only have held on to Volek but started him no matter what he said about competition, Vince Young, draft picks or where he actually was during mandatory team meetings.

  3. We still don't know who's pick VY was. I mean, it was Bud's pick apparently, but the question was who Fisher or Reese wanted.

Rolltide apparently has a skewed outlook outlook on a few above mentioned issues.

My point is that Fisher apparently didn't have the pull to choose his talent in the past. I bet he does now that he got Reese out of the way. This Mike Reinfeldt kind of strikes me as the kind of GM that wants to do it Jeff Fisher's way. Maybe he just isn't as visible as Reese was. There was a time when Floyd Reese made Titans All-Acess on local TV seem like REESE TV. I like the way Reinfeldt doesn't make too many mistakes (apart from Henry) but doesn't get on TV and blather on about his blunders afterward.

Fisher wanted Cutler, who cares who Reese wanted.

  7. Reese generally had personnel control when he was GM. I think it's a good bet that Fisher has basic control now over Reinfeldt even though he's officially the GM. I'm sure that was in Fisher's contract demands when he got a new deal. And that's the same time the Titans hired a new GM.

All that said, VY was Bud's pick. When the guy who signs the checks demands that you draft player XYZ, that's who you draft. Most owners don't do that (aside from guys like Jerry Jones and Danny Snyder), but everyone seems clear that Bud said to draft VY. What we don't know is who Fisher or Reese would have picked had Bud not insisted that they take Vince.

Well, Fisher did make a nice push to Shanahan for Cutler. The were assistants with the 49'ers in San Francisco. That action might speak to his preference.

  9. Because Reese is the guy who would have made the pick.

In 1995, Fisher wanted Kevin Carter. Reese wanted Steve McNair. Who did we draft?

  10. Maybe, but Young and Leinart were both already off the board when Denver picked. It could have been that Fisher merely said he was worth the pick as opposed to saying Cutler was the best of the 3.
