Young wasn't OMG terrible yesterday and everybody knows the team as a whole didn't give its all yesterday.

What we saw from Young was what we have been seeing all season long from Collins; the guy played it safe with his throws and didn't turn the ball over. The team wasn't trying to use everything in the book to win because they didn't care.

Bottomline: Young wasn't terrible yesterday and he isn't the anti-christ either. He and the team will be more than fine when he becomes the 1st QB, but I guess its pointless to say that considering most of the concerns about Young have very little to do with his play, and a little more to do with the desire to have Cutler and a little something to do with Young's origin.

are you infering that the reason people on this board dislike Vince Young is because he is black? or from Houston?:)

Kerry Collins is a drunk:evil:. Donovan McNabb is black, the Black Jesus...and he gets bashed when he plays bad. We don't care what color they are as long as their wearing Powder Blue and they play their butts off. Maybe if Vince Young didn't suck, he wouldn't get bashed? Ever thought of that?

Maybe if Vince accepted blame like his predecessors or showed good leadership skills by not quitting on his team, he wouldn't get bashed. The media has to handle VY with Kid Gloves and don't even get a good shot at interviewing him or asking him meaningful questions without his lawyer telling him what he can/cannot answer.

Bottom line, VY needs to put the extra work in. And if you think that yesterday's performance didn't mean anything, you're absolutely wrong, every one of you. Imagine being the 2nd team LB who hasn't seen a snap all year, you are going into the game knowing full well that you are going to be playing ALOT, you're trying to tell me that you don't care how you play or that it means nothing? Imagine you are the 3rd overall pick in the draft and you are said to be the future of the Quarterbacking position in the NFL, you have been demoted and now sit behind a drunk who has led your team to the #1 seed in the AFC and the best record in the NFL, and haven't played since the first week of the year......you mean to to tell me that it means nothing?:grrr:

The word I used was origin. I could have meant race, or the fact that he played at Texas, or the fact that he's from Houston. The fact that he's black and the fact that he played at Texas when the team could have drafted a guy from a school in Tennessee hurt this guy in the eyes of fans and everyone knows this.

I have a feeling that your idea of a meaningful question would be something like "Why do you suck?"

When did Young ever shift the blame for a loss onto any particular player?

You don't know that he quit playing. All we know is that he went back on the field and some reporters said he wasn't happy with the way the game was going.

The game did mean something to Vince Young. He wanted to go out there and show that he could be just like Kerry Collins i.e. play it safe throwing the ball, not making stupid turnovers and not trying to make something out of nothing that could lead to turnovers. True, he still needs to learn to throw the ball away rather take a sack, but other than that he had the standard Kerry Collins game. The difference is that you can't win playing the Kerry Collins way when you don't have a playmaker like Chris Johnson.

Young wasn't going to go out there and take chances trying to throw the ball all over the field because

    1) He wanted to show that he could be Mr. Do Nothing Game-Manager
    2) He wanted to be sure not to force things that weren't there.

I think he met his goals admirably, albeit in a loss in a game that didn't really mean anything.

But yes let's say, just for the sake of being idiots, that yesterdays game proved that Vince Young sucks and he simply can't play well enough in the NFL to win a game. He just sucks that bad.

WOW! Those are pretty lofty goals. Maybe my expectations are a little too high for Vince Young.

I don't see how anyone can defend Vince's performance yesterday. He averaged like 4 yards a pass! You know how you do that? You throw 2 yard slants all day and the receiver gets like 2 more yards. Collins would throw the ball down the field and get like 7,8,9 yard chunks at a time. Vince can't do that and hasn't done that. And can we stop bringing up the rookie year? Who cares? That was long ago and he mainly ran to win games, he can't win by running anymore.

WTH is Vince going to have to do to get you guys to stop bashing him!!?? I personally believe he played pretty good. Fisher wasnt using the entire playbook for Vince. He was simply giving him playing time so he can asses where he is right now. Vince made clean accurate throws. And anyone who says he played like the same old Vince is a moron because the same old vince threw low uncatchable balls, this Vince threw clean balls right at the numbers. But i guess the replays were just deceiving right. What kind of fan bashes their own player right after he leads his team to the playoffs? Did you guys forget before Vince went down in week 1, we were winning the game? He led us on a touchdown drive. And yea he threw 2 int's, Kerry did the same against Baltimore.
