I agree their system quarterbacks to an extent but New England can't plug just anyone into their roster. They can't plug in Reche Caldwell, they can't plug in Deltha O'Neal and they can't plug in Lawrence Maroney. There's others but I wouldn't discount Fisher as not being any to just plug people in and having them succeed. Last weekends makeshift defensive line comes to mind.

 

Uh sorry to break to you all but Vince is the future here at QB whether you haters like it or not. I dont know what is so hard about that to understand. Two years ago (Vince's rookie year) everyone wanted Collins head because he played like crap the first few games b4 Vince came in and here started. Now some of you seem to worship him like he is Joe Montana out there playing. Vince makes mistakes. I'll be the first to admit that. However after sitting around this year and learning under Dinger this is his team next year one way or another depending if Kerry wants to retire or leave. Just remember who owns this team, where he is from, and who drafted him... Bud Adams! He is not going anywhere anytime soon. If any of you would like to argue the opposite position of this issue saying Vince is gone, PLEASE show me some proof of someone credible saying otherwise.

BTW Cassel is simply a product of the system and the players around him. Heck Ryan Leaf, Akili Smith, or Quincy Cater could probably come in put up good numbers with the supporting cast there in NE.

 

Vince's cap hit doubles from the current levels in the last 2 years 2010, 2011. Untill then we can afford to keep him because kerry isn't costing us a lot.

Then there is the simple reality that collins is 35 and vince 25. So you keep vince and kerry both for 2009. Makes perfect sense.

Going into 2010 then you make a decision for the long term.


Matt cassell will cost at a minimum $8M a year with 30% guaranteed probably for 7 years. All you need is 2 teams that really want him.

If drew bennett and jacob bell can get $6M a year deals what more a 26 year old franchise QB?

 

The managing the game myth.


In todays nfl there is no such thing is a Qb managing the game because passing is a bigger part of the game. Every QB is going to have to throw the ball a minimum average of 25X a game. Last year vince threw 25.4 passes a game.

If the QB doesn't play well you will likely lose.


The 72 and 73 dolphins threw the ball an average of 18.4 times a game. Was bob griese just a game manager? Griese is in the hall of fame.

Kerry collins drops back to throw about 30.5 times a game. That's a lot of plays he controls. It's not just game managing.

 

2 years ago? What kind of knucklehead logic is that? Kerry collins has started the last 14 games for this team!

Vince makes too many mistakes, too many negative plays. That is stating fact. Only a moron would say that makes a person a hater.

We have 2 QBs and we can only go by how they have played for us. Which QB are we most likely to win with? The answer is obvious to a logical thinking person.

 

How? Are you tryin to tell me that there isnt a chance that Matt Cassel could be a one year wonder like Anderson? Cause if your are,your the one thats crazy.

 

Oh yeah dereck anderson. For those who think you can get matt cassell for $5-6M take heed. The browns gave anderson a 3 year $24M deal last year. That's $8M a year for the math challenged.
