I questioned the decision as well. But I think Fisher has made a lot more good decisions than bad ones.

A lot of you don't appreciate the benefit of having consistency at head coach, we are the only team that has had it for as long as we have. And believe me, it helps.

Fisher is a good coach. Yesterdays history and tomorrows a mystery, right now were 8-0, look at the glass half full.

I absolutely do appreciate that. We know that if the talent is there we are going to win. That was the case in 99-00-02-03-07-08. Last years team was the weakest in terms of talent but we were just 10-6 and we didn't come close to winning a playoff game.

Has fisher ever taken a team with 5-11 type talent to an 8-8 or 9-7 season? no. Has he ever taken an 8-8 type team to the playoffs? No.

This year of course we are much like the 2000 team.

    Horrified

Yep, I'm positively horrified that this thread even EXISTS! HELLO??!! We're 8-0 with a bad QB and no Great receivers. So we've had some bad seasons...the team was in the rebuilding process, and I'd say it's been rebuilt pretty good. If we'd have a bad coach we'd be the Browns, but we're not. So Fisher makes a gutsy call here and there, big deal. Obviously he's got alot of confidence in his team, and I'm sure it boosts player morale. I've never heard any player complaining about him, they all love him, and he's definately one of the best coaches in the NFL.

ROLLTIDE - Did u consider the fact that with one more carry also comes the possibility of a fumble? Birona's needed to get the win after he missed the previous field goal, and I think it was wonderful for Fisher to show him that he had confidence in him and to let him go for it. I think takin a chance here and there is great.

ruby dear the thread was originally posted two years ago. I just bumped it to be a jackass... but Fisher is winning with Collins and it was mentioned in the premise of the thread... so... I'm kinda funny like that... being amused by bumping this thread...

to his credit RollTide crafts good arguments. He's one of the best. I just try to debunk the old ones when I can.

My post indicates that maybe you missed something.

Yes i know but our backs have not lost a fumble all year. If fisher's job was to show confidence in bironas maybe he could have showed confidence in our RBs. CJ was tired having run like 4 of the last 5 plays but lendale was fresh and could have gotten us 10 yards closer with just 2 carries against that tired packer defense.

Did you consider the FACT that bironas had never missed from inside of 39 yards?

Did you consider the fact that we have not lost a fumble? Or that the packers defense was about to break apart? Or where the packers would have had the ball if bironas missed?

I'm not hating on fisher for the call i just think it wasn't the best option at the time.
