Looking at the schedule, there is a decent chance that the Titans could be 5-0 going into the bye week (HOU, MIN, @ BAL). The first game after the bye is @ KC, which could be another win, seeing how horrid the Chiefs have looked. But then the schedule gets very rough (IND, GB, @ CHI, @ JAC).

So I'm thinking if the Titans are 6-0 or 5-1 after the KC game, Fisher would have even more reason to stick with Collins -- as would he really want to bring Young back during the hardest part of the schedule? Unless Collins was really playing badly, I'd guess he would want to wait until after the Jaguars game (next 4 games would be NYJ, @ DET, vs. CLE, @ HOU). Ease him back in against (supposedly) weaker opponents -- if he goes back to Young at all this year.

Personally, I'm confident Collins will play well and remain the starter the rest of the season. Unless he really stinks and/or the team loses a few games in a row, I doubt Fisher will rush to switch back to Young. I know the team has a lot of $$$ invested in him and probably still would like to think he's the future of the franchise. But if Collins plays solidly and the team is winning, the team can't really worry about any of that.

When Collins was having all his off the field troubles and was playing poorly for Carolina, the team cut their losses, even though he was their franchise QB and had a big contract. A decade later, things haven't really changed much. It's up to Young himself to figure out what's going on with him and try to fix it -- the franchise should try to help him, but in the end, he's the one most responsible for how things work out.

The whole VY situation has been mishandled from the start. They draft Vince and let go of #9. Then they bring in KFC just before the start of the season. Then when he does bad because he doesn't know s--t about the Offense, they throw VY to the lions and expect him to be the new messiah. If they had just kept #9 a while longer (yeah, he was pretty much used up, but he could teach the Young one) we would have been no worse off in the last couple of years but VY would be much better off.

I think being Rich is what messed VY up. he even said last year he seen family memebers he hadnt seen in years, and he had so much going on and people wanting so much. it's hard to focus on football with so much drama at home.

when i have a bad night at home i know i cant focus at work the next day.

It is what it is now. That was a pretty clear statement. Collins is our guy. I'm behind him.

VY is an expensive insurance policy for us to have now. I think he'll be traded next year. That is a lot of money to keep on the bench when a lot of teams would be willing to give him a spin. Especially the Texans once the Schaub thing is over.

I think Fisher overeacted to the whole thing myself. But I'm game with Collins since he's been anointed King.

Fisher knows more about VY's mental state than we do, i just watched the press release on tv, and fisher acted like he didnt want to have to name Collins the starter, but his # 1pick has let him down.. he didnt look proud to announce it but it's better to say it now than later .IMo VY was an investement that has a % 40 chance of working out.

This is the day the 2006 draft has come back to haunt the Titans. Those folks that said we should have got Cutler on draft day are now getting the last laugh.

Hey, no matter how VY and LenDale pan out, we got Finny with our 7th rounder. That's a great value.

What I'm most happy about after reading that is that Fish has finally changed his way.. We went from being stubborn and riding it till it flakes.. to 3 strikes and your out.

Probably not making alot of sense here since i haven't posted in months.. but what i mean to say is that I'm glad Fish is not giving him the Lamont Thompson treatment...

Then again it could just be that he didn't want VY in the first place and was forced to draft him because of Bud Adams.

    Lendale's a good pick IMO.
He's doing exactly what we brought him in here to do. Pound the ball 3 or 4 yards at a time, and don't fumble.
