A QB is the leader of a football team, right?? I'm not giving all the credit to VY, although in close games he always seems to get a drive set up to where they're in field goal range. We won more than one game like that last year. YES, I LOVE OUR DEFENSE, and they have saved our hineys tons of times now!! Is your irritation gone now?? :moon2:

maybe I'm reaching there, I don't know. Maybe he was unaware how close the defender was... it is what it is. Regardless, I hope to weather the next month and build a good record. When Vince comes back I'll be cheering for him but I'll let him surprise me rather than disappoint me.

I think this season is a reality check for VY. He'll either come back from his injury and play like he did his rookie season and when at Texas or he'll flop and he won't be so popular anymore.

A QB is the leader of the offense. It was clearly our offense that dominated the Jaguars. Thanks Vince for 'leading' us to a victory! Even though our defense had 7 sacks, picked off 2 passes, and had another fumble recovery, Vine still managed to make sure we only won the game by 1 possession.

Or you could attribute that 3rd and 15 play to Vince because he got hurt and Kerry came in and got led the team down for the go ahead TD. If not for that TD while Vine was off the field, Jags get the ball back with a chance to win - all the while the defense is sitting on the sidelines shaking their head at their dominant performance wondernig what else they can do to help this team win.

I'm confused, how many points did the defense score?

it's more a question of how many points they gave up. oh yeah, they handed the offense three possessions. you can't take anything away from that group. for all practical purposes they won the game.

Kerry Collins has played in two championship games and a superbowl. This alone should tell us a lot but people overthink too much these days and overlook the obvious. How many football games have we all watched? Thousands. How often do you watch a game and believe that the starting qb could lead a team to the superbowl? Not many huh? This guy has done it. He is solid. His arm strength is good. He can make all the throws. He knows the playbook. He is older and therefore more mature and he's shows composure in the game. Our defense is great. Big run stoppers, pro bowl pass rushers, fast linebackers and a sick secondary. Tell me why we can't win with Collins and this defense. I smell something familiar. Titans/Ravens circa 2000. We've got a shot this year and I'm gonna enjoy the hell out of the season.
