good God, let's hope if we do in Fact draft another QB, we don't go after another Scrambling QB.

and i don't think Alex Smith is the answer either. he showed in SF that he can't get the job done.

i agree we would need to draft a CB to fill in for harper.. but why not also try and get a solid #1 WR? give vince someone to throw too and if that doesn't work then we can draft a QB the next draft, which would probably produce a better QB class then, then the one coming out.

I'm glad we didn't get Brett to be honest with you. I would much rather see us get a young QB and make him into something. But Brett I think as 1 maybe 2 years left in him. So i don't see how Brett would have been the answer. Yeah we could have had a good QB for about the next 2years, but then what? whats after he leaves? Back to Young. So i'd much rather see them draft a QB not sign an Old QB who has a few years left.

don't get me wrong Bretts good, but not the answer to what we need and this time.

We were never in the running for brett, so I'm not glad or disappointed because there was never any build up. But if we did have Brett, I think our team is a superbowl contender, without him, well were the titans.

    D'oh!
There are those who would argue you bring in the superstar and draft your future QB to be schooled by "the man" during those 2 years - and just possibly churn out some post-season in the meantime...

If vince goes bust it puts us in quite a pickle.

Next year there are no top quality FA Qbs. Kerry collins and jeff garcia are the cream of the crop and garcia will be 39 and collins 36. You could go to war with guys like that for one season but that's about it.

After them you have matt kassel and kyle boller. There is no drew brees franchise player.

If we are going to draft a QB, if we are to that point than i say go all out with our first pick if an aaron rogers brady quinn is there but the easiest solution would be for vince to get off his dead arse and start playing.

I'd love to see Someone with the drive of Aron Rodgers become our QB.

We dont need a guy here that just wants a pay check, we need someone who loves to win , those are the guys that force them selfs to be great.

If Alex is there for cheap, I'd take him for Backup/Competition. He has injury issues, but hasn't really legitimately had a shot.... He plays on the Niners and has had 4 OCs in 4 years.... and the injuries haven't helped him develop.

But he'd have to be cheap....

If we do take one in the first let's wait a few years.
