I was talking about this on another site, I knew Fisher would do this, he always goes with the vet, even when Finny is ready to pass Harper, which I dont think he is, he will still put Harper #1

i agree with Psychop1 and vslyke, the depth chart is only one part of the picture, if calling fowler our starting mlb keeps tulloch fresh for other situations that suit him better then i'm all for it. It's not always just about having the best 11 players on the field because it changes for every situation.

Didn't want to = becoming a cancer on the team.

Tulloch's versatility is what keeps him a backup player. Fowler hasn't played poorly. If he did, I believe there would be a competition for the spot, but Fisher is a conservative coach. If it isn't broke, don't fix it. Seriously, review the depth chart, and you will realize how valuable Tulloch is as a backup player, and how useless Fowler would be as a backup player. Linebackers need breathers too.

You never know though. Tulloch might really impress in the preseason (don't forget about all the "Hill is still the front-runner" talk all of last preseason; what Fisher is saying now won't necessarily mean anything a month from now), and end up with the starting gig anyway. I imagine that will also depend on how impressive Keglar looks.

It's got to be heartbreaking for Tulloch though, you know? The coach basically said "it doesnt matter how good you are - I'm playing this guy".
If I were on a team, and heard that - I'd be looking for another one ASAP.

You never know, Finny might still be the backup CB and S, if we did not draft Griffin. Griff allowed Finny to start becuase he became the backup CB and S, until it became evident that we had to start him. Come to think of it, we could have had Griff and Finny starting as the safeties when Hope got hurt.

I hope what Fisher says to Tulloch behind closed doors is different than what he says to the media.

ha! who gives a damn about ryan fowler? if he doesn't like it and starts to become a cancer, cut his ***! he's a very replaceable player.

Not if you ask Jeff Fisher.

I'd say that is the case.

Remember Lamont getting cut was a surprise when he finally did get cut.

Fisher always goes with a steady vet (i.e. in position, better understanding of the D etc..)
with slightly less production than a younger player who can make plays but screws up some. Compare Eddie w/ Brown (better YPC for Brown but a lot more fumbles) Sirmon and
everyone else behind him at MLB and Lamont and....wait LT was not steady at least for
more than 1 year....I give up! You guys are right, a combo of salary and stuborness to
admit mistakes, be it in the draft (see Chris Henry) or on the field (see LT). Tully will be
    fine.
