Don't get too excited because Heimerdinger is in town. Fisher is a "run first" and strong defense coach. He doesn't like the long balls down the field. If the run game is dominating, don't look for many passes. He's not concerned with putting up big numbers on the scoreboard as much as he is with winning. I mean, if we're scoring touchdowns with the run, he's fine, but he wants to eat up the clock.

Why do you think Coach Ray left for the Cowboys in a lateral move? He was frustrated with the shackles placed on the offense. How can Brandon, Roydell, etc. flourish if they are only 20% of the offensive scheme?

Even if we still run the ball alot, I still like Dinger because he can develop VY better than Chow. So when we do pass the ball he can be more effective.

Fisher is supposedly allowing Dinger more control over the offense. I'll believe that when I see us do something other than Run, Run, Pass on 3rd and Long, Punt.

Quarterbacks shouldn't be judged at all until their third or fourth year in the NFL. Development of a quarterback is 99% mental. Those who are thrown onto the field their first year simply aren't ready. Just look at Phillip Rivers, Tony Romo and Aaron Rodgers. At the end of their second years, no one was complaining about their qb ratings because they weren't even good enough to get onto the field. If they had been, all three would have looked lost, like almost all rookie quarterbacks.

Vince has had naysayers since high school. I don't know why--the obvious answer is jealousy, but who knows? In any case, in high school and college he proved the doubters to be wrong by coupling his tremendous work ethic with his exceptional skills. I read a column recently that claimed that VY had never been a good passer. Maybe he didn't see how VY beat Ohio State. Maybe the author didn't notice that in Vince's junior year in college he won the national championship and also had one of the highest passer ratings in the NCAA.

Vince Young will carry the Titans to levels that would not be possible with another quarterback. Give him time and he will make the wait worth it.
