Yeah. We could. But MR would rather draft a runningback. And if you're fine with the way our defense looked without Haynesworth last year - you'll be thrilled in 2009!

Albert needs to quit frontin' and check his agent. He knew he wasn't going to get a big contract with a long term deal. He's effed up and around until it was time to make a new deal. He played like, well, like it was time for a new contract. There are behind the scenes stuff that went down with Albert, that the team is throwing in his face.

Albert better take that franchise money and show that he can pull off 2 back to back Pro Bowl years. Cause hardly anyone else with the team thinks he can do it.

Of course his agent is going to say that to put some pressure on the MR...

Money talks, he'll show up this year do what he can, and hope it warrants a contract, not a tag

I could sure as hell go for some monster DT play by Jason Jones to put Al in his place, but that's definitely wishful thinking. I don't think too much of this, really.

What? We probably offered him a nice long term deal similar to what roos got maybe even a little more. He just wants too much. When odom can get $6M on the open market why wouldn't haynesworth expect at least 50% more than that? Even starks got a $4M deal!

The salaries are going up in this league.... even for average players. If the Titans want to keep him they need to pay up. I would pay him the big money. He was just to important to this team last year. I am curious to know what kind of money he is requesting from the team...

This is kind of a non-story, really... if his agent didn't put the pressure on the Titans he wouldn't be doing his job. I've never heard an agent who didn't have a deal act like it was no problem. A deal this big rarely gets done before the deadline, so I'll start worrying July 14 when the same story comes out.

Titans are in a tough spot here - AH really only has given us 1 good year, and he was injured for a decent chunk of it. We have to pay him, but it comes with a big risk. This is almost a perfect case for the franchise tag. If you only play up to your potential in the last year of your contract then you're asking your team to only give you 1 year contracts. We'll see, but if I'm MR I think I'd have to franchise him this year.

Franchise his fat azz. He'll sign it. What is he going to do- sit out next year?

I doubt we see him work any more when he gets the signing bonus for his big contract. Although he has loads of talent, he has never shown ANY work ethic that warrants a long term contract (eg-KVB).
