And just a month ago everyone knew Connor was the best LB and 2 weeks ago everyone knew Fred Davis was a 1st round pick. Imagine what we'll find out on Sunday.

I see what you're saying, but he took a gamble I wouldn't have taken. As soon as recievers started going off the board I would have started getting on the phone ready to give whatever it took, the Seahawks moved up from 55 to 38 for a third rounder and the Jaguars moved from 58 to 52 for a fifth rounder, so we probably could have moved from 54 to something ahead of the Bengals at 46 for one of our fourth rounders and had Sweed, Jackson, Kelly, and Simpson still on the board. If we had done that, then I would say I was happy with our first two rounds. Instead, we reached and took decent players at positions where we basically just need depth.

 

Why does everyone keep saying that Pittsburgh stole our draft? If we really wanted those players we would have traded up to get them. I'm not so sure that if Pittsburgh had chosen different players that we wouldn't have picked the same players we did.

I don't think we would have taken Mendenhall over Johnson, not because of their skills at all but becuase of how high we seemed to be on Johnson, apparently they weren't even sure he'd be there for our pick? But I definately think we were caught with our pants down when the Steelers took Sweed. I'm basing that purely on the observation I made in my previous post that we used our entire time make our selection, I don't remember seeing anyone else get inside of 30 seconds on their pick time. To me that suggests that they had to re-analyze their board, I know I wasn't expecting the Steelers to take Sweed, I thought they'd go with Dan Connor.

 

Pittsburgh stole our draft? Who in the hell really wanted Limas Sweed that bad. Pittsburgh may have saved our draft. Only time will tell. Cry now peeps but we will cheer later

 

Donte Stallworth couldn't stretch a groin let alone the field.

 

I think with KVB and Kearse teaching him some things along with his size and athleticism, this guy could be a great player for us in the future
