Well, this twist in the story deserves it's own thread. It's a doozy.

To read the account in the Tennessean, I get the vibe that Pac knew the shooter and paid him $15,000 in hush money. If you read the Channel 5 article, Pac didn't know the guy the night of the shooting and paid him because of "threats" to his family.

It makes sense now why Jones didn't request to be reinstated last week. This could take months to play out which means no trade or reinstatement anytime soon.

It'll be interesting to find out if this was part of his plea last year and if Goodell knew of it.

If you're not guilty of anything then why pay? Put that money towards body guards for the family.

I think it wreaks of guilt for packydoo

Jerry Jones may have had some inside scoop that this was going to go down. I really wish we would have completed the trade at the Owner's meeting.... dang!

Does anyone believe that Packydoo didn't know the guy that extorted him?

I really believe everything gooblejaws says (haha)

Wow... reading all the accounts this morning on this mess.

Pac denied knowing the guy for a long time. Now it appears he did talk to him just before the shooting. So we have Jones caught in a lie. Did Jones order a hit? It'll be hard to prove except Pac pays the guy $15,000.

And how often has Jones' lawyers/agents not had much comment on ANYTHING these past few months? Read today's Tennessean and their "no quote" pretty much tells me they didn't know this was about to happen.

    Depends, he probably knew him.
But if this guy calls Pacman and says give me money or else I tell everyone I know you and you called the hit and every man and his dog will believe it (mainly because most people think it is the case regardless).

But saying that I think Pacman is finished.

Manny Arora, Jones' Atlanta-based attorney and agent said, "We are aware of the facts as alleged in the police report. It is not our place to comment on those facts; I'll let the district attorney's office do it. They are going to have to prosecute the case and I'll let them comment as they deem appropriate."

Translation: "We agreed to drop legal fees if Adam allowed us to be his agent. If we'd known this bomb was about to drop, we'd bailed on this idiot months ago."

this is bs. adum didn't pay extorsion money, he paid hired gun money or shut up money. If he paid any money at all. This story is designed for everyone to feel sorry for adum.

Wow. Just wow... what a great guy, someone to be glad to have on the team...

One of those times it's not so nice to be right...

Anyone want to step up and defend this and talk about how they're sure he'll play for the titans again?
