The humor thread is awfully large, wouldn't finding and deleting all questionable contact involve a lot of your time?

Yeah. But I have the ability to mark posts for future transfer. It doesn't need to be done all at one time.

How about instead of embedding video, we just provide the link.

I think the creation of a user group for questionable content and dark humor is the way to go. I agree that it's in the best interests of everyone to keep the areas open to guests free of nsfw kind of stuff. I recognize that the image the forum projects says alot about us as fans and people. It's important to maintain that. This is a wonderful website and the way that it sustains itself through ad revenue is great. Having a trashy website could alienate potential advertisers as well as new members. Keeping it clean is definitely worth it. However, there is a lot of great comedy, joke vids and the like that contains profanity but is actually has smart redeemable content. Just look at guys like Carlin, Murphy, Cooke, Black, Rock, and Cosby. They all have profane comedy acts and they are all intelligent and very funny.

Also, even though I am quite sure this won't go over with Jeff at all I think that as long as a new forum is being created, by adults and for adults, that it should be able to sustain threads on mature topics whether they be about the war, environmental policy, government... whatever. The thing that needs be understood is that anyone who wants to act extremely *insert unsavory term here* malicious or whatever would be ejected from the user group by the group leader. I see this opening up a HUGE moderation headache, but, I nominate Starkiller as group leader and "big stick" to keep the forum in shape. I know he has a genuine desire to run threads on hot topics. He's moderation anyways. Plus, if it doesn't work out Jeff can shut it down and not have the headache. I think it can work if people realize they are subject to lose the PRIVILEGE to view and post in the user group.

Basically, hate speech just shouldn't be tolerated. Mutual respect should be shown. Flaming just shouldn't be allowed. It's by in large a discretionary matter but it's an exciting time right now on the American political landscape. If I want to participate in a discussion like that I currently need to head to glorifythepast or patriotsplanet or some place like that to talk with "my kind of people" that being NFL fans. I have heard that years ago there was big trouble with that here at goTitans, but maybe, just maybe with a user group we could gather and discuss topics that really matter to us, apart from the Titans and the NFL.

My final thought is what to call such a forum. I humbly suggest "taboo forum" but I am quite certain that someone else can come up with something much more clever.

Tell people to stop being so uptight. Ah that won't work either I'm sure. I guess the special usergroup would work.

    All good comments.

Actually, I would think it would be a mod-free zone with the exception of personal threats, illegal activity and anything deemed sexually explicit. I don't think the mods want to deal with judgment calls here.

We did try out a mod-free, anything goes forum a few years back. Some members would lose track in whether they were in the mod or mod-free areas. :ha: That's why that died so we might have to guard against that. We didn't create a special group for it though which could have been the reason.

Simple answer. Make the forum with all the videos a member only section. Alot of forums have that. Some parts you must be signed up to view.

Really, there are all kinds of great forums for potentially inflammatory content. Though I'd like to engage in some challenging banter with some of the fine folk in this forum, Jeff's anti-inflammation policy has been a good one for the past few short years.

And one moderator is not enough to handle the load.

I love the people who want NFL forums to be family friendly and not trashy. However, look at the sidelines at the cheerleader! Let's start with their bikini tops, then the tight white pants that make it obvious that they aren't wearing panties. Then the stripper dance moves and bending over. Every girl 18+ knows white pants are hoe clothes cause they are see through and back in the day you wore a colored bikini bottom and a bikini top as the shirt.

Wait, I think i'm rambling, never mind.

We never said "not trashy"*, and all American families love cheerleaders.
