So front-load their contracts with big numbers up front so we can utilize the cap room we have this year, then spread the remainder out evenly so that it doesn't hurt us year after year.

So far between our four signees we have spent what 10 mill of this years cap. If we have the money use it to lock up our key linemen, both offensive and defensive. Roos is a stud, but I think that we need to be fair and deal with Albert first and then get roos taken care of. Another big thing about keeping Roos is that he is still young, that is a huge plus to have a young offensive line to grow around vince.

How is that even related to each other?

Both got All-Pro votes. So they are obviously very good.

Roos is a good LT, one of the very hardest positions in football to fill. And he is young and somewhat new to the game of football - he will probably improve. You cannot find guys like this on the market, except once in a blue moon, and then half the league is bidding against you. Finally, you can always sign your own guys cheaper than you could when the bidding begins, because auctions are almost always won by the party that pays too much, based on the information available at the time. I have no doubt we intend to sign him long term without risking the market.

Bell is a totally different situation. Smart scouting will get you good guards at a reasonable price, and we have a good track record there.

Roos needs to be thankful we gave him a job when nobody else would. Man, I hate agents.

Roos has more than repaid us for our initial investment. And besides, football is a business. Lots of players get cut every year who sacrificed a lot for their teams over the years, compared to what they could have got if compensation were the only thing. Nothing wrong with getting what you are worth.

I wouldn't be shocked if Roos makes more. In his short career, he's been a lot more productive than Haynesworth was at this point in his career. He's been healthy and consistent. Though I don't know if top five is realistic, I think he'll exceed the Adams deal.

If given the choice, I take Roos over Haynesworth.

    Fortunately we can afford both.
