That's reasonable. I wanted to keep Odom, too - although realizing that would mean paying him more than KVB really seemed wrong to me. I'm a little nervous about Kearse, but the truth is that when he's healthy he's incredible. If we go that direction and are satisfied with his knee it could be a significant upgrade over Odom. At the end of the day, if we just replace him with an equal player, but lock up AH, Roos and Stewart I'll call it a decent offseason.

I don't think MR has made incredible moves at all - but I like the philosophy he has. Incredible moves aren't always available or reasonable... so play it safe, bring up the middle and the bottom of your roster while you are waiting for the right playmaker to be available at the right time. And I really do think that we are all underestimating the significance of Chow being let go. Fisher just doesn't do that - I think the organization had to be very convinced that we have the talent but it was being held back. We'll see.

For what it's worth the AP's David Goldberg seems to like MR's restraint...

Why do you think the Titans are planning on carrying a lot of cap room into the season? There's a lot of free agency left. He has plenty of time to work out some long-term deals with Roos/Stewart.

I really have a hard time understanding this mentality that the team should have overpaid for any of their free agents they lost. The only one in the mix I felt was remotely close to the deal they received was Odom.

If he matched any of the deals for the better players taken in the first three days, I think many of you would call him an idiot for that.

We got Crumpler for a steal at a minimal risk.

What exactly do you feel he should be doing he's not?

I think that we have to get a Starting WR either via trade or the draft. We still need a starting DE, CB and a running back that can take pressure off of Vince. We can't rely on Lendale White to stay in shape and to stay healthy and if we can get Julius Jones and maybe do a 2 year deal with Javon Kearse that would help a lot.

    You the man MR :applause:

MR's biggest critics on this board are probably the folks running around with 100k in debt :ha:

It would be nice to be half way through the 3rd with a 20 point lead and know the games safe for a change. That is not go into prevent and go 3 and out every series.:irked:

    Think again.

    1) Should have beat Bengals offer to keep Odom.
    2) Should have locked Albert down rather than franchise him. As it stands now, it is going to take monster money to keep Albert now with the Raiders DT deal and Shaun Rogers deal.
    3) Needs to "re-load" the D line. Until he actually signs somebody, he goofed up. I'm betting it will cost as much to sign a washed up situational vet as it would have to kept Laboy and/or Odom.
    4) Should have never drafted Chris Henry.
    5) Should have gotten creative to acquire (via FA or trade) true #1 WR.

The list goes on and on. But I admit- that is not my profession and I don't proclaim to know it as well as he does. I'm not panicked as so many people suggest- I'm just calling it like it is right now. He may pull together some deals that make this off-season look solid. Until he does, his performance thus far is what I'm critique-ing and at this point it isn't good.

Maybe you spoke too soon? There's a lot of FA left for all of your points, and a lot of career left for Henry. I'm not a fan of the Henry pick, but let's wait it out.

How can I be speaking too soon when I keep pointing out I am only critiquing where we are NOW in FA. I hope the guy steers us in a good direction. The Kearse signing for 2 year 6 mill, 1.3 mill guaranteed was an excellent and cost efficient move to replace LaBoy. I'll give him credit for that for sure.

Possibly. But I have faith that the coaches know what upside Odom has. He had ONE decent year playing on a line with two Pro Bowlers. I think many players would have thrived under those conditions.

As I've said a number of times, Haynesworth was not going to sign a deal before free agency because neither side knew the market. Now they do. I expect the deal will get done or we'll get to see if Albert can repeat another season. He can be franchised more than once if need be. The Titans don't lose him after the '08 season. I'm thinking it's wise to get closer to mid-July to try and sign him.

    It won't.

Many said the same about LenDale after his rookie season.

Like Fitz or gold toofus? Moss? Be serious. Teams who have the elite WRs in the league under contract are not going to give them up. If they do, it would cost the Titans their first-round pick for the next two seasons. We'd want Reinfeldt's head if he did that.

I'm encouraged with the signings so far. Though I question the Kearse signing, if they got him for two seasons for a reasonable amount of money, he carries about the same amount of risk as LaBoy would with much less of a commitment.
