Why, when a team signs a FA, are they saviours - nevermind how they played or anything?

Troy Williamson? That guy couldn't catch a cold, he was a workout warrior to "replace Randy" yet only 6'.

Jaguars are as bad as the lions for drafting WRs, and now it seems acquiring them in FA too.

Reinfeldt has an approach to free agency, and it is extremely logical and sound. Don't overprice on player that for the past few years, have come from an under-saturated market of talent, and therefore yield very little production for what they sign for. While many will jump at the Patriots last offseason, they forget that their franchise has done a magnificent job at building a tremendous core of talent through many years of investment via the draft and with (read carefully here) PLAYERS WHO FIT THE SYSTEM, AND DON'T BREAK THE BANK.

Posters scream for the Titans' organization to spend money while it is here, when in fact, the less you spend on moderate talent that will be grossly overpaid, the better shape you are in down the line. It's a simple concept, and I wouldn't expect some of you ledge-jumpers to understand that. Under Reinfeldt last offseason, the Titans transformed from a scrappy, but incomplete 8-8 squad to a 10-6 playoff contender that had imbalance with offensive issues and some defensive line depth. The offensive side requires work, and yes, some holes will need to be filled (Berrian at WR and Gross at G if Bell is not resigned would be solid progress IMO). Defensively, the depth can be found in the draft, or with some careful picking in a few weeks. The notion among some fans that a team needs to be spending out the gate is an extremely dangerous one, and makes me glad those people are sitting behind a computer instead of making legitimate decisions.

Last years FA period was extremely frustrating on this board when the Titans were relatively quiet, and I remember many of the prime complainers. But I am glad to some of those same posters quieter now, and extremely disappointed in those who are not.

We'd lead the league in 12 men on the field violations. And we would have betting lines on who left the field earlier on each drive. They'd be incredible, while they were both on the field.
