you know, this concern would be much more valid to me if we were discussing a golfer or tennis player.

if Roydell, Troupe, Scaife, B.Jones, Gage don't improve it's not going to matter what Vince does. If we don't get him a playmaker, or one of the people the Titans have doesn't develop into one, his numbers aren't going to dramatically improve anyway. If the O-line were to fall apart it wouldn't make a difference if Vince was working full-time on NFL stuff in February.

Does anyone else out there think there is, at least, a possibility that Vince doing something positive in his life that will add overall confidence to his person that could translate into being a better professional in his career? I certainly think that's a possibility.

he's already stated he would be coming back to nashville some, had made arrangements with his professors, he's stated he is going to work out in the mornings and work on NFL business in the afternoons. I guess some people aren't going to be pleased unless Vince is working 24/7.

I'm glad Bud Adams and Jeff Fisher are ok with his decision, I as well support it.

Good for Vince finishing what he started.

This is how I feel. Even if you can't appreciate the idea that Vince is getting an education, at least you can appreciate the beneficial role it'll have for his being a role model. Hopefully he'll mature a little to help that along, as well.
Kinda sad to think though, that a lot of the kids he's a role model for would likely rather he improve as a passer than set a good example like this.

Agreed. So he is going to class instead of playing golf in his free time. He will still put in his time, but I certainly don't expect a man to work 80 hours a week during the offseason. If you get him some help and he doesn't produce, then complain. If he does produce this year, many of you will owe an apology.

This is a seriously disappointing thread. Vince is keeping his mind active and trained, he's bettering himself, accomplishing an important goal, keeping a promise to his family, and enabling himself to be a better role model to children and to inspire them to pursue their educations. He's keeping a schedule that requires him to stay disciplined and manage his time well and stay out of trouble.

He's returning to a place where he thrived in order to restore his body, mind, and confidence. He set up his schedule to basically be off on Monday and Friday so he can return to Nashville easily. He's joined by several other NFL players who are trying to complete their degrees including another Titan in Michael Griffin.

I swear some people will ***** about anything.

many players live someplace other than their team's hometown in the offseason. it's not a big deal. there is NO DOUBT Vince was going back to Austin with his time off. his best memories are from his time at UT, and Austin is a great city.

so what's wrong with him taking a few classes while he's there? sounds like a good plan to keep out of trouble, if you ask me.

Im a Titans fan, not his dad. Go to college, good boy. Go to strip clubs, bad boy.

    Not my problem.

VY got paid lots of money to suck last year. Your window of opportunity to go to school is much greater than your window to play in the NFL.

Im not saying he should do one or the other, but I can understand some people wanting him to focus on playing better.

Alzarius I'm fairly certain everyone here wants him to focus on playing better. The point most of us are trying to make is he's going to class for 12 hours a week. That's like saying if he played golf 3 days a week he wouldn't be putting in enough time. We all want to see our quarterback improve. The truth of the matter is he's not going to put in 100 hours a week on football, no one ever has or will, and i'd much rather have him spending his free time going to school.
