SUMMARY: According to a statistician, the Titans have a 19.2 percent chance of making the playoffs, though that number would increase significantly if they beat the Jets and Colts. Their chances (of making the playoffs) went up 3.7 percent by winning at Kansas City," said Ken Roberts. If the Titans win their final two games, their odds of making the playoffs improve to 76.6 percent, Roberts said. Last season, everything fell perfectly for the Titans to make the playoffs except winning their season-finale against the Patriots. This year, they close the regular season against the Colts who may want to rest some of their starters. Even if they win out, the Titans will need help in order to overtake the Browns, Jags or Steelers for the final spot in the AFC playoffs.

    • Tennessee’s final route into the playoffs is to have the Jaguars lose their final two games — this Sunday at Oakland and in the finale at Houston. If both teams finished at 10-6, the Titans would win out over the Jags by virtue of their superior record inside the AFC South.

I like this one best... imagine how sweet that would be? :ha:

Did anyone see the good game the Raiders played against Indy?
How about the Texans against the the Broncos?

chill out everyone... don't get your hopes too high.

I have my hopes set really high. 76% ( when we win both games) is really high guys. To illustrate, at no point during the season would our chance at making it have been higher. And as you know, the playoffs looked like a lock early in the season. If we win both our games, I think it is a lock that we get in. I really do. It is almost inconveivable that this doesn't break our way if we win both games, and as you know, both games set up nicely for us. I cannot imagine that a team in our position has ever been set up so nicely. I really can't. It's a perfect storm in my opinion.

I'm not buying into the stats. To me, there is no way the Jags lose their final two games. They'll probably beat Oakland by 20.

Pittsburgh has had two tough losses but I don't see them losing to the Ravens who looks like they hung up the season after the loss to the Pats.

The Bengals over the Browns Sunday is the one and only thing I think we have to put much faith in. The Browns barely beat them in a shootout earlier this season. Pray for good weather Sunday because without a decent passing game, I don't think the Bengals will do much and the Browns will just hand the ball to Jamaal. But I like the Bengals at home if they can pass.

Right now, the spread is Cleveland -3. I think that's about right. Looking at that, I see a Cincinnati win being about 45%. Since I think all our chances for a playoff rides on this game, I give us a 45% shot if we win out.

Cool thing is we'll know the outcome of that game (and the Jags) before we kickoff. I wonder if the LJ will have the game on at the tailgate Sunday? :brow:

Chances of Schwartz returning next year - 99.5%
(I left the .5% of him not returning in case of the event that he gets hit by a bus....we can only hope).

Weather forecast not good right now.

Don't forget about Rudi Johnson and Ken Watson. Statistically Browns and Bengals run D is about even w/ Bengals a little better. (Obviously skewed b/c of weak pass defenses). So in my book, it remains a toss up. I think TURNOVERS are the deciding factor- even + or - one turnover.
