Thank god... it's only week 11. that being said, have you ever heard of the saying " the sun shines on a dogs azz every once in a while ". Young had a decent game tonight, but it still doesn't change my analysis of him. Young and Cutler went head-2-head tonight and Cutler won... but it was good to see Young do better than he has this year.

Wouldn't it be nice if VY had one or two receivers who could make plays like that?

As we approach the end of his second year in the league, he's taking a lot of heat for his play. I think we saw tonight what he is capable of. Now it's time to surround him with other people who are able to make plays that he is being forced to make on his own right now.

I think that, but the wide open offense played a big part. We let him run his college offense tonight and he was unstoppable.

And can I start the "no more Chris Davis for punt return" fan club...How many fumbles has he had this season. The one tonight was potentially HUGE.

Ok so he took one to the house in the pre-season against a bunch of guys who watched this game tonight from the same place we did...our living rooms. He hasn't done squat in 2/3 of a season.

In the aftermath of this game, I'm looking forward to Jeff Fischer and Norm Chow opening up the offense some more. While Young isn't the best at the deep ball, we have seen how he does well with the intermediate routes. That has been Young's bread and butter.

Now here's the funny part about titanpride. The first post out of the gate, he posts about how Young played "decent", Cutler played better, and we should have him as a draft advisor (who would have ostensibly picked Cutler). Never mind the score, never mind the defense, it was straight to Vince Young. It's clear that what titanpride has is an agenda - and a blatant one at that. Any one with a clear head knows that working your way out of a hole is impossible if you aren't getting good defensive play. Now if VY had had a 6-24, 75 yd, 3 INT performance, he would have three threads posted calling for Young's head, KFC to start, and Ingle Martin as the backup. But he throws for 300 yards and has receivers bounce footballs off their face mask and he plays "decent"?? Give some credit where credit is due - not backhanded compliments - and try to have some semblance of an open mind and rational, lucid thought. If you didn't like the Young pick, so be it. But ranting constantly isn't going to change the past.

Well, the good news is they are still in position for the playoffs. Haynesworth and Harper got to rest a week. Everyone knows the Titans can play great defense when healthy and they will be very soon. Everyone knows the Titans can be a good running team. What everyone didn't know is if Vince Young could perform when forced to throw more than 20 times. I think Vince proved he can tonight. I see good things happening for the team before the season is over.

Side note: I would not like to see Chris Davis ever again.

    Positives:

    - Young played very well. He looked more comfortable out there, made some nice throws, and had us in position to be competitive all night.

    - Bironas is one of the better kickers in the league, tonight just continued the trend.

    - Despite some bad calls, I felt we were pretty competitive all night.

    Negatives:

-Some atrocious tackling tonight. Rey looked god-awful on that weak *** tackle attempt that led to the long TD run. He's a below average corner and a liability out there. Sorry.

    -Safeties were bad tonight.

-Defensive line is certified bad when Haynesworth doesn't play. Linebacking corps also can't get to there gaps and look average without. Bullock had a very poor game.

-Our WR and TE corps is below average. Critics can't put the blame on Young tonight because they truly did cost us a lot of yards with the drops. Bad performance.

    - Special teams, sans kicking and punting, is awful. Simply awful. We don't have a single competant player back there returning kicks and our coverage unit has regressed frightfully in the past few weeks. Unacceptable.

We are not as good as some of us think. That, however, doesn't make us a bad team. We're a 5-6 seed caliber team right now, and that's very acceptable to me. With Haynesworth and Harper healthy, we are a great defense; without them, we are below average. Not good.

Offensively, things aren't good. I have confidence in Young, and no one else really. Pounding the ball only works when you have great or at least competant defense, and we don't have that right now.

I'm happy to see fans not freaking out after this loss. Things aren't great right now, but they aren't terrible. We just have to be patient for injuries to heal, but I think we'll be ok to make the playoffs.
