It's the preseason. Offenses are vanilla. Defenses are vanilla.

But in the last two preseason games, if you combine the first half of each, Vince is 21-for-31 for 238 yards, 2 TDs passing and 2 TDs rushing. He has a 112 passer rating, and, most important, NO INTs.

Even more interesting is he has only FOUR rushing attempts during that time (2 were for TDs) so he isn't even using one of his best weapons yet.

In one game, he has a completion of 20 yards. In the other, 30 yards.

So his critics might want to explain why he needs to risk passes deeper than 30 yards with that kind of production.

Is one of those passes a dump off that the receiver ran 20 yards? Just curious.

Sure. You don't think run after the catch plays a role in every QBs stats? But in this case, the pass was a 30 yarder to R. Williams. He averaged 11.3 yards per completion in those stats I provided.

The Titans offense isn't going to chuck the ball down the field 30+ yards but maybe once or twice a game because Chow is about a higher percentage passing game.

Young is in a no-win situation with you. You complain because he can't hit his short passes because of his mechanics. Then, when he does, he's not completing enough passes over 25+ (which has to be through the air, apparently) and he gets no credit for making an accurate short pass in stride that the receiver can make someone miss and turn it into a big gain.

He had one of those in the Patriots game to Bo Scaife.

But he had a 30 yarder to Chris Davis in the Buffalo game

And a 20 yarder to Brandon Jones today, though not sure if that was a dump and run or a long pass (I assume it is a long pass since it has been mentioned in the topic at hand).

I believe the 20 yarder was to Roydell Williams in the 2 minute drill last week. How about the 30 yarder to Roydell last week. That was one heck of a pass. In between the DB and the safety. I guess when he hits them deep TNThunder will say he needs to hit the short pass...

I know Thunder is mad that we didn't draft Cutler....Or that Bennett was shown the door. But at least man up enough to admit when VY has a good game. You really do seem to have an agenda going on.

I like the sound of that....TNThunder AKA Agenda Boy!

Thunder is very Merrill like in that his spew seems to come from a place of hoping that Vince will fail just so he can say how he was right. That's why its so hard for me to understand how a real fan of the Titans can feel that way.

What's the point? It can only lead to a miserable, negative existence of either Vince succeeds and he's mad, or Vince fails and the team therefore fails so he's mad anyway. On the other hand, given the overall negativity of Thunder's posts, I get the feeling he's pretty familiar with that kind of existence.

And why doesn't Young get credit for making the right decision? If he saw a dump off with room to run, and chose that over squeezing it into risky coverage then the YAC indicate a smart QB decision. QBs are decision makers more than they are passers - tons of good passers have come and gone in this league... and tons of decent passers have made HOF runs with good decisions.

  10. Wll i'm glad i'm not the only that thinks that TNT Complains about VY constantly.I find it odd that the majority of us on this forum has seen improvement from VY from last year except for one or two people. The guy is still learning and that best part about it is, that he knows he has to improve his game and hes willing to do that everyday, you can't knock the guy for that, but you can defiently appricate his desire to be a winner. Can't teach that my friends...
