Voice Recognition Software

    Why the hell do companies insist on using voice recognition software instead of automated menus?

    Surely it can't be that much cheaper for them.

    It has got to be the most frustrating thing in the world to use (particularly when you have any sort of accent). I find about 90% of time the machine doesn't recognise what I am saying and it takes me 3 times longer than it needs to to get to a point where I can speak to someone (which is all I ever want to do).

    You'd be surprised how much it costs to have people talking on the phone. Plus, Americans frown upon you filthy foreigners anyway... :ha:
