I think his chances of getting something done about this are going to be better in some kind of lawsuit. It's good that he's appealing, but at the same time it's only an appeal to Goodell. Why would he change his stance just because Jones has attorneys? He won't. This looks like a formality to a lawsuit to me. I hope Jones wins. I'd like to see him playing. I'm still mad at him for getting in this mess, but perhaps he'll be just fine, once it's all said and done. I still have a hard time keeping faith that he'll be trouble free until he's cleared to play again... but that remains to be seen as well.

i hope the suspension is significantly reduced, but i hope pac still learns his lesson.
i say we put a clause in his contract saying that if he gets in any other incedents or conduct detrimental to the team, that we dont have to pay him

I agree BP. It is going to be a totally different tone and composition to this meeting. There will be attorneys on both sides. Goodell has pushed the league into dangerous water by impugning Pac with tangible damages WITHOUT precedent on his side. Factor in the apparent lack of equitable enforcement with Porter, Vick and Johnson and you've got a recipe for a civil labor suit.

I believe you will see Goodell reach a better compromise with the number of games and facility ban to avoid this going further. I believe Goodell will reference the legal elements when he gives a statement in order to preserve his image and the goals of the new policy.

I can't help but think of his suspension like that of buying a car. My offer starts low, and the dealer's starts high, with everyone settling somewhere in the middle.

Maybe Goodell sobered up and will reduce it. Guy was apparently drunk when he came up with that suspension. Joey Porter gets off with nothing too? Hilarious!

I think the word you're looking for is "discriminates". Racist means it's because of race...which doesn't make sense.

Just trying to help you out.

It's not an unprecedented suspension for off the field activity, BTW.

Ask Akex Karras and Paul Horning, to quote PFT.
