  1. It looks difficult now, but things will change, teams will get better or worse, kinda like the saints last year...

We had a hard schedule last year so what if we have one again. We mine as well play the best teams cause if we win theres no stopping us come playoff time if we already beat the top teams. With that said though I hope we make the playoffs.

I can't believe some of you guys are complaining about a pre-draft, pre-pre-season strength of schedule rating. As stated, all of the games a team plays has already been determined. The only reason the schedules take so long to come out is because they have to decide when to match everyone up so that there are no conflicts. Of course, there is more to it than that, but that's the jist of it. Anyways, if you look at the pre-season SoS ratings compared to end of the year SoS ratings, I think you would see that there is no correlation at all which makes complaining, at this point, irrational.

Hey, thanks for the breakdown! I kinda like having a hard schedule. Playing strong teams shows you where you're at, and if you make the playoffs you'll have had recent experience with some of the teams you'll play.

Exactly. I don't really see the point of determining difficulty of schedule before the season even starts, because there will always be some disappointing teams and some surprising teams

No problem, and I completely agree with your sentiment, that way nobody can use the excuse of an easy schedule for our success

I don't understand how the worst team from last year ( raiders ) gets the hardest schedule this year? I know they are in a good division but they should have 2 games against the lowest seeded afc teams in the other divisions. isn't it 6 division games, 4 games against another division in the conference, 4 games against another division in the other conference, and the final 2 games are against the equivalent seeds from the two other divisions in the conference.
does that make sense? Since the raiders ended up a four seed last year they should play at least 2 four seeds this year, which one would think would bring down the strength of schedule more-so than a 1-3 seed.

Or do it XFL style, instead of a kickoff, put the ball at the 50 and have Pac and Henry go at it...

Well, I don't have the schedule in front of me, but I think they get the AFC East, so the Pats and Jets are playoffs teams, right there it's a killer, knowing Denver, KC and SD are already playoff teams (or playoff caliber teams (re: Denver))... So it makes sense because that's how it goes, the NFL doesn't pick an opponent out of the hat for every team, it's already known which division you'll face... Listen, look at our schedule. On paper, it's tough, but we could beat Cincy, we could beat New Orleans, we could beat Denver. You never know what happens. Did you think we'd beat the Colts AND Jags last year, not even to mention beating the Iggles IN Philly? It's a tough schedule now, but wait til the season starts. We still play the Faders as well as the Cowgirls twice by default...

I explained this in my other post, but it was at the bottom, so I wouldn't be surprised if a lot of people didn't get that far, here you go:

The main reason that the Raiders' schedule appears so hard is that they're in such a hard division, two of their divisional opponents finished 9-7 and the third finished a league best 14-2, add to that the fact that they're playing the AFC South, which had two teams finish 8-8 and one finish 12-4, add to that the Bears, who had the best record in the NFC. That's ten out of 16 games against .500+ teams and four against teams with 12 wins or more, that's a pretty hard schedule on paper.
